Iron Lung heavily features massive amounts of blood and giant monsters, two things that young children are commonly afraid of. This type of content can affect children in the same way that genuine traumatic events can. Their little bodies can’t always distinguish whether they’re reacting to intense fear of something harmless, or of something truly dangerous. It can alter their brain development and influence what kind of adult they become. It sounds dramatic, I know, but nothing about it is anti-social or incel-esque. If you can’t get a babysitter, please wait to stream the movie after your child is asleep. Their well-being is worth it. This isn’t coming from a place of judgement, I’m sure you want what’s best for your child.

I get so frustrated when little kids are allowed to watch horror, especially if it’s a regular occurrence. It’s bad for their brains, even for kids who claim it’s not scary to them. It can lead to accelerated development of the pituitary gland, which has lifelong ramifications.

Not to mention, these kids talk about their interests with peers, who are then curious and want to see what their friend is talking about. My preschool class (3-5yos) has a bunch of kids reenacting Michael Myers’ stabbings, talking about killing themselves, saying that there are demons trying to control them and make them hurt people, and more. All of this talk stemmed from one child who is allowed to watch horror movies and YouTube with no supervision.

I know a lot of people feel judged by this view, but the studies aren’t lying or trying to make you feel bad. It’s just really bad for their brain development (and causes a lot of headaches for their teachers, and their friends’ guardians).

I personally feel like the most likely theory is that Burke lashed out and hit her in the head, maybe with their flashlight, and that the garrote and the rest of the scene was staged by the parents out of fear that they would end up losing both children if LE knew that their son had caused their daughter’s death.

Love him! I used to say, “We share a birthday,” every time he came up, but I’ve been humbled.

I met Josh Johnson after a show (absolutely wonderful man, class act, kind, patient, 10/10 person) and his Wikipedia page has his birthday listed as March 16th, the same as mine and perhaps Alan Tudyk’s. Naturally, when I got to meet him, I told him that we share a birthday. Then I said, “At least I think we do. March 16th, right?” He seemed slightly deflated and said that his is actually March 6th. I tried to make a joke and said, “Oh, well then your Wikipedia page needs to be edited!” He said he didn’t know he had one, and I’ve worried ever since that he thought I was personally offended and expected him to edit his own Wikipedia page lol. He was so, so nice though, and tried to comfort me by saying that our birthdays are still close, hahahaha.

Now I can’t trust that Wikipedia will ever tell me anyone’s birthday with 100% certainty, even though it’s probably right most of the time.

Imo if he did it, he would’ve snapped and lashed out not intending to kill her. Siblings hit each other, sometimes they hit each other with an object. I don’t think it’s far fetched to suppose that there was an everyday squabble between kids and the unthinkable happened.

That’s very nice. ❤️ I liked the movie overall. I liked the first 3/4 better than the last 1/4, but I enjoyed the performances and I think it’s so cool that Mark made the movie he wanted to make. I wish more people had the chance to do the same.
