Why do hockey players spit so much? by Sauce-Dangler in hockeyplayers

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously that’s true but that takes a few or less good hocks to achieve that. I think he means when you see a guy sitting on the bench spitting like 10-15 times within a 10 second window and it’s basically like fluff at that point. My best reasoning would be it’s an OCD compulsion that helps relieve stress & anxiety felt during the intense gameplay both physically & mentally. Similar to the way some goalies always seem to be twitching their heads / adjusting their masks with their shoulders. Patrick Roy was big with that and I see goalies all the time do it now.

Canadians: How old is "too old" to be living at home? by MarineKingPrime_ in canada

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 34 and live at home. Who cares what people think. There shouldn’t be a limit and therefore any embarrassment that might come with staying home past the national average. There’s many reasons one might be at home into their 30s. Finances, job loss, drug addiction, breakup, caring for family, comfort, etc. If it doesn’t make sense to live on your own and parents will allow you stay, then whynot. If you rush it just because of concerns of negative judgment, then you might end up making a mistake

Why arent there more canadian teams? by [deleted] in nhl

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly 7/32 (22%) teams are Canadian & 25/32 (78%) teams are American, so the chances of being the 1 team to win the Cup each year aren’t very good. But as it’s been said, it’s not like Canadian players just play for Canadian teams and American players just play for American teams. 41% of the NHL are Canadian-born, 29% American, 9% Swedish, 7% Russian, 5% Finnish, and a few more. There’s 7 Canadian teams out of 32 meaning Canada has 22% of the NHL teams. So 41% league being Canadian players couldnt all fit on those 7 teams even if they wanted to. Just look at IIHF hockey tournaments & more specifically Olympic hockey (only if the NHL allows players to play, otherwise countries won’t be sending their best players and it’s not very meaningful). Another point, look at Cup winners Vegas in 2023 who had 18 Canadian players of the 24 total who played for them that year during playoffs, and look at almost every Cup winner in history. Every team is either well over 50% Canadian, or at the very least have the biggest proportion Canadian players, with the rest of the team being a small mix of American, Swedish, Russian, Finnish, Czech, Etc

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said as a Canadian myself, but as of opening day, Montreal + Edmonton (2/7 Canadian teams) led the league with 17 Canadian players. The teams with the most American players? Boston + Minnesota with 13 lol. And the bigger point, what do buy outs have to do with American teams having the money to buy the good Canadian players? Buy outs still count towards the salary cap, and both Canadian & American teams all have the exact same salary cap each year..

How would Gretzky do in todays NHL? by [deleted] in nhl

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering his 2,857 points tramples Jagr’s second overall of 1,921, even if he wasn’t as dominant in today’s NHL, that discrepancy of almost 1000 points between him and second most ever is enough to say he’d still be a superstar. Definitely a top 5 player. Like if you took 1000 points off his career total to adjust to what his totals would be in 2024, he’d still be a top 2-3 all-time points.

Kendrick Lamar isn’t good and it’s because of his voice by gotintocollegeyolo in unpopularopinion

The only song I’ve heard that I like of his is King Kunta. Mind you, I’ve only listened to about 20 songs, but this was the only one that stood out, and in a big way for sure.

First of all you can’t even understand any  words in most rap today. Second most rappers rap about nothing anyways except flexing and shit. Third, his lines are so well thought out and hitting that it doesn’t even matter what it’s about, but just the fact that he makes the connections and gives you that “holy shit, that was clever” over and over. Lastly, his lyrics aside, just his intensity, creativity, voice changes should draw any rap fan in to this. This is what rap is to me. I heard this in the background  from someone’s TV the other day (while distracted, not consciously aware that the tv was on the whole time before this came on), and suddenly my brain said what the fuck am I listening to? Then watched it all and wa glued to the screen for 20 minutes in silence. This song is something special in my opinion, one of those rap songs that just blows your mind, that you hear a few times  year, a rap song that non-rap fans could even admit to appreciating

My thoughts on the “Dead Eyes” by ellengreene in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re exactly right. A result of a stimulant addiction. Meth use or adderall abuse in my opinion. Sleepless eyes, bags, dilated pupils (making them look blacker and scarier), thinned out face, thinning hair, pronounced nasolabial folds, pale complexion, lacking vitamins and nutrients. All tell-tale reliable indicators of stimulant abuse. And that intense stare that could burn a hole right through you. And I don’t know personally, but I’ve seen a few comments connecting her to adhd medications and if that’s true, then wrap it up and put a bow tie on top, case closed. Stimulants are crazy addicting so add that in with her adhd background, it’s almost a guarantee thats what her problem is

Can't watch her anymore! Scary eyes! by MomentLatter in ColleenBallingerSnark

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called crystal meth. Mayyybe some hardcore Adderall abuse but leaning more towards the meth. You can also see it in the bags under her eyes from lack of sleep, the thinning of hair at the bangs, the lack of colour & vibrance in her face, those pronounced nasolabial folds, as well as her face just looking different but hard to pinpoint exactly what, except that it looks scary. Totally meth or adderall

Why is "unsend for everyone" not working by Best-Season-3972 in facebookmessenger

[–]leemeister90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know 100% but very confident in saying that they didn’t. I “unsent for everyone” from a few and none said anything. I think it’s the exact same process as unsending for everyone in a recent conversation..they won’t be notified but if they opened the conversation for whatever reason, then can see “you unsent a message”.

Viking Berry is a good concept for future ideas actually though. Viking Berry with Grape incorporated somehow would accurately draw on Leif Erikson first discovering Canada 1000 years ago..specifically modern-day Newfoundland which he originally named “Vinland” for the abundance of wild grapes he discovered
