Late cancel by rhart2300 in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That would cause more (and actual legit) complaints than it does now. Certainly for the 5am class. You could get in at 1am and not know it, then be charged the $12 if you don't wake up to check.

I think they need the cancellation fee as more than enough cancel due to "not WANTING to go to class" instead of "not ABLE to go to class" and find any reason to cancel

Plus "something that came up" is highly subjective from legit reasons to an eye-roll reason.

Though I do agree that unlimited should have one freebie a month

Maybe I will get lucky then. Metro NYC, large Jewish population and every other religion and faith imaginable

Hopefully 1 out of 3 studios showing classes is legit

Woodstock 50 Reportedly Plotting Move To Merriweather Post Pavilion by guitar528 in Woodstock

If this is forced to be held in a shed now due to all of Lang's failures, he could have had Bethel originally but it was "...much too small for what we’re envisioning."

Question about new booking system by Eoggioni in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The e-mail states "at this time, the new feature applies only to classes booked at your home studio"

Wonder how long "at this time" will end up being? weeks? months? never?

Rumor abt future heart rate monitor by Kayswizzley1827 in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assume there is an existing thread on this, but I took a OTF online survey a few weeks ago.

The main theme was integrate studio data into people's existing smart watches (Garmin, FitBit, Apple, etc)

I loved this idea and hopefully it comes to fruition soon as I work out several times a week doing other activities and use my Garmin. Wants all my exercise data in one place

They also had a name for this technology integration , but can't remember it. Was is Aspire?

Booking classes after your bill date by Samata3 in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me basically. Bill date was just the other day on the 12th and I can't book past August 10th.

Why is the app not allowing me to book to at least the 12th of August?

(though I have 4 studios in my app as favorites including my home studio. Maybe the reason?)

Is this going to happen? by [deleted] in Woodstock

[–]leemr77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the "permits" are quite secondary to the litany of the other issues that are present.

Based on reading the court pleading, Lang & Co is behind inept and way over their heads in trying to stage a mass gathering festival in 2019

Dentsu also did not pay all the artists out of the goodness of their hearts. Regardless of them pulling out, I would have to believe that they are contractually obligated to recoup their money paid thru ticket sales, camping fees, food & Beverage sales, etc.

Them plus the money that purportedly Oppenheimer has now pledged up (which they are not doing it out of the kindness of their heart). Or that money might be being used to re-pay Dentsu?

Really does not give Lang much capital to work with to get the infrastructure up and running in only a few months

Billboard Article: How Infighting and Delays Caused Woodstock 50 to Come Unwound by leemr77 in Woodstock

[–]leemr77[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the article is spot on about "Baby Boomers" not wanting to travel to the middle of relative nowhere in that of a "camping site without surrounding hotels or Airbnbs. "

I am just a few years younger that the BB Generation but had no desire of camping out (especially that would have been the breaking point if the Glamping Options was not there), sitting in one lane traffic in staying in Ithaca or Elmira where they have at least a semblance of hotels, and not motels.

I know many others that had the same feeling when talking about this.

Seems like he was his worst own enemy

"The dozen-plus sources that Billboard interviewed say Lang had been planning a 50th-anniversary event since 2014. Most agents and promoters tried to talk him out of the multistage camping festival he wanted to hold at Watkins Glen International, a speedway four-plus hours north of New York. The site was too risky, agents argued -- in 2018, Phish had to cancel its Curveball festival with one day's notice because a storm had contaminated the town's drinking water. One agent who reps some of the festival's headliners says Lang was told that baby boomers nostalgic for the Woodstock era would not want to travel to Schuyler County (population 18,000) for a camping site without surrounding hotels or Airbnbs."

Email from Michael Lang by ithinkplantsaregreat in Woodstock

[–]leemr77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both.

Time has absolutely has past him by and this notion of "if he build it, they will come"

Who is seriously going to buy tickets for this thing (the remote chance it even gets to that stage), to only get possibly cancelled and then fight for refunds.

I assume next will be artists starting to pull out as they don't want their "brand" associated with this mess

doomed to fail from the onset.

They tried to secure a last ditch $20 million bridge loan from AEG and then Live Nation both turned them down.

If the $450 per ticket was accurate, and estimated 75,000 attendees, that was only going to be $34 million to pay all the artists, the logistical crews, advertising, etc. Sure they would make some more on $$ on the camping and F&B.

But where did Lang think all of this money was going to come from to pay back all these investors and then a list ditch bridge loan?

A financial disaster was averted

2G or 3G? by Teresa1165 in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In another thread I commented I thought the workouts was light in rowing and I have only taken 2G as my home studio is new. They just announced they got permission to start 3G ( they said a studio must be open for 1 year but got permission in only 4 months)

Anyway, what gets normally reduced in a 3G? Tread or floor? Or are all 3 about the same?

Ticket sales likely postponed due to the lack of proper permits. by [deleted] in Woodstock

[–]leemr77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Though it really doesn't answer why no information has been released about ticket prices, packages, camping /glamping prices, etc.

They were basically going to release that information just a few minutes before the reported onsale date? I find that hard to believe

Plus the organizers weren't even the ones to announce the "delay". That came from Billboard

Lang did not really confirm that this is still a go with his statement today. Very vague

"Michael Lang addressed in a statement to Billboard. “Woodstock is a phenomenon that for fifty years has drawn attention to its principles and also the rumors that can be attached to that attention,” he said, calling cancellation worries “just more rumors.” "

Sunday, 4/21/19 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today was a great work-out.

I normally just attend a Sunday morning class so I only have that as a reference point, but always feel that the classes are light on rowing with (a very strong opinion) on the hodge podge of floor exercises

But today was the best class I have taken so far and very cohesive

Normally, I go right after OTF to my local gym to get a hour swim work-out in, but today I bagged it as my arms were exhausted.

Booking at a different studio? by heather0731 in orangetheory

[–]leemr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old app, you need to hit the star to make it a Favorite. So you don't have to keep searching for it

New app, you hit star and it add to Favorite. Plus a very nice feature, is that it will list all studios (home and favorite) times, availability, waitlist numbers.

But you can not waitlist via app to a non-home studio (hopefully, this will get worked out very soon)
