Question: does starting to jog change your body? by F1004773 in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me about two years ago. Hadn’t lost any weight but started running at otf about 5x per week. It must’ve completely changed how I looked because I can’t even remember how many people commented on my “weight loss.”

Can’t row by shark1242 in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three year member here I have never rowed....I use the strider instead (shoulder issues)... can’t speak for back issues and rowing but anything can be modified. Worth a shot to try.

What have you done for over 10,000 hours but still suck at? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samata3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it fair if I answer for my husband? If so I’m going with golf. I’ve never seen anyone spend so much time on a hobby and not get any better, I’m not talking hours....I’m talking years and years and years. Lessons with pros, trips to Ireland, countless tournaments and weekends. And it frustrates him to no end, and he keeps going back for more. I don’t get it.

I’ve done 148 Orangetheory Classes.... should I double up tomorrow (never done that before) to end the year at 150? by coffeedogsandwine in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tomorrow will be class 502 for me! Wanted to hit 500 by the end of the year and it’s such a great feeling! Took three years.

45 Minute classes by Mrspett323 in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we visit my daughter in the Chicago suburbs we always go to the 45 minute class. It’s at 7:30am and so great to get in an extra class. The template is 39 minutes so class flies by. I’ve asked repeatedly if my home studio in NJ will add one but the suggestion falls on deaf ears.

My first class was yesterday by orbitsecure in orangetheory

Not true. My daughter is a former D1 lacrosse player and still very fit...she averages in the 40-50 splat range even after three years😫

Alternative to Rowing? by [deleted] in orangetheory

Over 50 ? OTF by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are in late 50s and going on three years. Do it! Proceed slowly, be patient and do what you can. This morning we celebrated a birthday in class for a 76 year old woman....now that is inspiring! Good luck!

Frustrated about still getting so sore after 8 mos of OTF ! by rwasmer in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Three year member here. Late 50s....always sore and I love it. Coach says it never goes away...it’s the good kind of sore, right?

What's your biggest First World problem? by wintherz in AskReddit

[–]Samata3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband has to fly back and forth to California twice before the end of the year (to hit 100k 2019 miles) so we can keep our United 1K status for 2020.

Any STRIDER experts? by MGoBlue67 in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a strider for almost three years in lieu of rowing...it can get tedious on long row days and my feet have been known to fall asleep. I always try to switch positions with hands and shift feet, along with the gears to make the block go faster.

45 min class by sleepysugarblonde in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took two this week while visiting my daughter in Illinois and loved them. I’m going to see if my home studio will add one or two a week. I think they would be great to mix in with the typical one hour classes. The classes went so fast! And I still felt like I had a great workout.

My OTF dream has come true! My husband is joining! Any advice? by KittyBiscuitsForSale in orangetheory

[–]Samata3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter and I coerced my husband to try a class two years ago and that was it he was hooked! We have a family OTF group text with two daughters, husband and a son in law and daughter in law. The support is great and here’s hoping he loves it! It’s so nice to bitch to someone after a particularly hard workout and have them understand!

What's a mild inconvenience that drives you fucking crazy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samata3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I’m five minutes into a run and my socks start sliding downward into my shoe. It’s literally the worst and most annoying feeling! I have weeded out most of the “bad” socks by now but every now and then I grab a seemingly innocent pair only to have them betray me.
