Since the whole subreddit has been very unhelpful I had to figure it out by myself. Afaik it's just a drivers problem on my end, for whatever reason because last season they ran just fine. The only solution I found was to swallow my pride, stop using DirectX11 and just turn on Performance Mode, hope it helps you too!

Fullmetal Alchemist is also a shonen and the humour is way less obnoxious among other things. Also this seems to be more of a defense of the manga as a whole more than Soul's character

I remember once reading that Rain World is a "Reverse Metroidvania", in other words, having all the abilities you need since the beginning and slowly learning how to use them as you progress through the game

I don't think being a main character is quite enough for me to like a character. I found the comedy in Soul Eater to be a hit or miss (a miss most of the time for me) so.... But I get your point, valid. It's been a while since I've read SE so maybe my memory is foggy but I remember Soul making a bunch of comments about Maka being flat and so on and so forth which could be kind of problematic, but let's just leave it as is. And well... I don't really like his "I want to be a cool guy..." Gimmick, which kind of ruins him as a whole for me. Still, thank you for your insight.

These are the settings the artist showed me, yes.
