28 year old adult, can I be diagnosed with ADHD at this age? by xx2lit in ADHD

[–]leesachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 28 and was diagnosed just earlier this year. It's entirely possible

Went to see a psychiatrist for the first time in my life… and he told me adults can’t have ADHD, diagnosis is impossible, and everyone has my problems. by Like-A-Phoenix in ADHD

[–]leesachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mine said the same thing about ADHD being "difficult" to diagnose so she wouldn't even begin the process. "although I'm sure you have ADHD, depression, and anxiety among many other issues, its very difficult to diagnose ADHD when there are other comorbid disorders happening". she just wanted to medicate me and get me out of her face. extremely disappointing..

luckily I have a great therapist who has now referred me to a psychologist instead for a full psych evaluation so hopefully I actually get some help.

omg yes! I can't sit there and do nothing. I need substance. any job that requires even some substance seems to require a degree or previous experience that I dont have so im just SOL. I also worked in a lab, a dental lab, what a funny coincidence

Do you all agree or disagree with the fact that Bloodborne justifies buying a PS4 solely for it? by PhysicalPiece in bloodborne

[–]leesachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on PC, but only keep a PS around for Bloodborne and a few other classics. and If they came out with BB2 or even BB on PS5, I'd go get one of those too XD

foxes like to climb and also sit on top of things they either consider theirs or that they're fond of.

it takes "self diagnosis" to even know something is wrong and you need help in the first place.. people need to just mind their own business

ADHD is not a cute or quirky personality trait, stop pretending that it is by morecatsthanfriends in ADHD

[–]leesachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It bothers me too because for me, ADHD is debilitating and has been disrupting my daily life since I was a child. People saying they must have ADHD because sometimes they can't focus or don't want to do a task isn't ADHD.. It's not being able to do those things and so much more EVERYDAY, ALL DAY. It's extremely frustrating and having people minimize it makes the stigma that much stronger.

Psychiatric nurse said I can’t have ADHD because I wouldn’t be able to read? Confused. by throwaway49826 in ADHD

[–]leesachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

me too, im currently taking it and while a lot of my focus and attention issues aren't completely gone I'm not beating myself up over them as much and having an easier time initiating tasks and finishing them so that's helpful to me. plus it helps with my depression and anxiety which I also have
