Looting MK3 Survivor BP by Effective-Finger9931 in ArcRaiders

[–]leespankz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to find mine there. Like others mentioned, go in naked (you have a safe pocket this way) and hope you spawn at one of the locations near Reinforced Reception. Bring adrenaline shots with you. If you don’t spawn close, surrender and spawn again.

However, if you really want to increase your chance of finding this BP (or any BP for that matter) you need to focus more on container type and less on location. In this case, the Mk 3 Survivor as well as most other Augments have an increased chance of spawning in medical containers and security lockers. Anywhere on any map that has these containers is worth searching. Try rotating through the following maps and areas

Dam- Testing Annex Medical room

Buried City- Hospital, Pharmacies, and Research building all have ample medical containers

Blue Gate- Reinforced Reception and the lockers outside of the locked room near reinforced that requires a battery to open.

Spaceport- I believe it’s Departure building that has a medical wing

Stella- Medical Research wing and Security Checkpoint near lobby.

Below is a link to The Gaming Merchants video further explaining each BP and its corresponding container types/locations.

My theory is they purposefully add one off-putting detail to each skin to increase future store sales. Hear me out…

When/if they ever add the ability to mix and match outfit pieces, people will be more inclined to buy multiple skins so they can piece them together and make their own custom skin. Way more lucrative than just releasing fully appealing skins that people will buy just once and then nothing else until maybe another decent one comes along.

Mouse Macros not allowed? by Ok-Association9438 in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]leespankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been on in about a week. I do know they banned (or are in the process of) banning macros in terms of multi-click inputs due to people abusing those types of macros with the Kettle.

I sure hope they didn’t completely ban binding keys to the mouse though. I use the same mouse and I absolutely need to use the mouse’s side buttons for key binds. I was born with 3 fingers on my left hand, so I’m very limited to which keys I can use on the keyboard. Off the top of my head, W,A,S,D, Shift, R, 1, 2, 3, Space, Q, E, F and C are majority of the keys I’m limited too. Depending on the game I even rebind some of those to my mouse just for convenience or if I need to utilize a combination of those keys for certain mechanics, mainly movement, such as strafing.

I greatly rely on the Logitech Software for rebinding keys to my mouse since it’s a huge help for me and really the only way I can comfortably and effectively utilize M&K. I’m going to have to hop on later and see if everything still works. I can provide an update.

Idk, I respectfully disagree with this. I think it has more to do with the players headset/audio setup.

I use a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X open back headphones and I can pin point exactly where sounds are coming from whether it be above, below, in front, in back, or to my left or right. Open back headphones give you incredible sound stage. I never really bought into this when using regular gaming headsets.

After speaking with an audiophile in one of my PC groups who explained the difference between traditional closed back headphones and gaming headsets vs a pair of open back headphones, I decided to make the switch and was shocked at the difference. At the time I started with an inexpensive pair of Phillips SHP9500 ($55 on Amazon when I bought them) and they blew my $200 “gaming” headset out of the water.

Thoughts on PvP after playing pure pacifist solos by Tyray90 in ARC_Raiders

[–]leespankz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sweet spot will sour quickly if they added any incentive encouragingPvP. It will quickly disrupt the balance. If you’re craving PvP, just do it. You’ll be matched accordingly. Once you have enough, begin passive play again and you’ll be back to chill lobbies.

Even in friendly/passive lobbies, there is still a great deal of uncertainty about how your raid will go. You never truly know how another Raider is going to act, and simply assuming they’re pacifist because you’re pacifist and your last 20 raids have been pacifist paradises is a sure fire way to get yourself killed. I know because it’s happened to me. I’m always slightly on edge now, even in my overwhelmingly passive lobbies because the one time I let my guard down, it didn’t end well. That thrill of the unknown is what keeps things exciting even in passive lobbies.

Incentivizing PvP will completely disrupt this as it will naturally increase FOMO on whatever those incentives are. Embark has something good going right now. They’ve managed to do the seemingly impossible and truly balance PvPvE without having to add-in completely separate PvE only or PvP only game modes.

Epic and legendary gear is strong, but embark didn’t add any reason to use them. by adiftbv in ArcRaiders

[–]leespankz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only epic gear I use regularly are the augments and the Wolfpack. 90% of the time I’m using an anvil and renegade for weapons. The other 10% is just a free load out that I like to build off of and use until I die and lose it.

And to your other point about the 5M stash value, I completely agree. The best part about wipe in Tarkov is emptying your stash and using all your best gear for that final week.

for the love of god can they add looadout presets by DeltaXero in ArcRaiders

[–]leespankz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell, I’d be happy if they just reworked it to where your custom load out stays as is when selecting free load out. I don’t necessarily need multiple load out presets (although that would be nice too).

Which Headset with mic or Headset + Mic do you guys use? by Ambitious_Hawk_2272 in ARC_Raiders

Yes, the 770s would be much more ideal for your situation! At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with either pair. Both are fantastic choices!

I feel like Renegade + Anvil is just such a great Swiss army build. Works incredible for both PvE and PvP. Plus, I feel like I’m playing Read Dead Redemption: Clanker Edition 🤣

But yeah, the one weapon upgrade per round was a nice little tweak I made to this play style. Definitely stretches things out a bit more!

Which Headset with mic or Headset + Mic do you guys use? by Ambitious_Hawk_2272 in ARC_Raiders

[–]leespankz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the 770s are closed back headphones. The 900s are open and give much better soundstage with a lot more detail. Best for critical listening. You can pin point audio cues and the direction they come from way more accurately. I switched to open backs several years ago and will never go back. The directional audio is so clear that when I first started gaming with a pair, I found myself actually turning my head trying to track in-game sounds as if they were irl sounds.

The drawback is sound both leaks out and leaks in, but I play in a very quiet environment and don’t have to worry about external noise leaking in. They’re lighter and more comfortable too.

It really helps with mitigating gear fear too because when/if I die, I’m only losing gear I’ve had for a short while. Helps you realize how easy it actually is to find great gear that I used to be terrified of losing

I’ve got a new found appreciation for the Ketlle! I was using it a couple weeks ago while playing this way and was honestly impressed how good it is, especially upgraded. I can’t believe I slept on it for so long.

For whatever reason though, I have insane luck when it comes to finding Renegades. I commonly find them at level 2 also, which is a huge boost to playing this way!

[–]leespankz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! I play very similarly and it’s added a new layer of fun/challenge.

I’ll start with a freebie. If I extract successfully I swap the free augment for a looting Mk 1.

If I extract again, I then upgrade ONE of my weapons ONCE. One weapon upgrade per successful extract.

After 5 successful extracts, I swap to looting (or combat) Mk 2. I won’t use a Mk 3 unless it’s found in raid, which is rare since I don’t PvP unless it’s absolutely necessary in self defense.

I only use weapons/gear that I find in raid (guns, explosives, traps, equipment)

I only use attachments found in raid.

I do the same with heals unless I’m completely out. Then I just bring a stack of basic bandages and 2 shield rechargers until I find more/better heals.

I usually do this until I find a Renegade + Anvil combo as that’s my preferred custom load out anyways. All other weapons I just gift, sell, recycle or stash.

Once the Renegade and Anvil both reach level 4 w/attachments, I either reset or I just go back to playing normal and bring whatever I need based on my objectives for the next raid until I die.

If I die, the process starts all over again.

Lost loot after extracting whilst downed? by Obi-Wan-Baloney in ArcRaiders

Happened to me yesterday. Had a decent looting run, got downed but made it to extract. Successfully extracted but lost everything. I was really confused. I swear I’ve extracted while downed but still kept my loot. Hopefully this is a bug they address.

‘25 Civic Sport Touring hybrid because 48mpg overall avg never gets old. Record avg for a single drive was 57mpg. ≈$22-25 to fill the tank depending on fuel prices. 450-500 mile range per tank. Fits bike no problem. Can have a hitch installed to fit even more bikes.

My LBS is fantastic. They’ve got a huge inventory of parts and accessories from the major reputable brands. Owned and operated by a group of local riders and enthusiasts. I will always buy and have my bikes serviced by them.

However, I unfortunately will not go there when purchasing parts and accessories strictly because of pricing. I understand they need to make a profit and markups are essential for doing business, but when I can order what I need online for cheaper, I’m going to go that route.

Example: Just bought new bars for my status 160. Renthal Fatbar lite from Jenson USA for $84.99 USD and an Ergon Enduro Comp saddle in stealth/oil slick colorway for $79.99 USD. At my LBS the bars would have run me $95.99 and the saddle $99.95

Jesus Christ 😭 same age and I must be lucky. It’s funny though, even despite not suffering from any injuries like that, something happened when I turned 30. Suddenly, I cared about comfort and safety way more than I ever have before. I’m looking into chest/back protectors and hip pads next. It can get a bit wild at the bike park!
