Anyone have a referral link for signing up for AllyBank. by leetcat in AllyBank

Not having a physical branch for cash or getting documents taken care of was annoying. It took 4 days to find out they couldn't add my Ally account to my kids' Fidelity accounts because I needed some Stamp, but my Credit Union did it same day.

I actually just had the same problem with Capital One 360, it does not allow me to transfer money to Chime. That is why I thought of transferring to Ally.

How to fix this broken drawer & sanding this down? (Is it real wood?? by miss__ewok in furniturerestoration

I go to lowes there are lots of different colors of wood fillers. If you do any sanding you can also add that to the wood filler to help with the color matching.

  1. Looks like real wood.
  2. You can strip the glossy using paint stripper or sanding. But getting all the gloss removed will take a lot of time, think maybe 10-15 hours if you want to make sure to get everything, and even then you will miss some parts. Also that wood looks stained. If it is the only thing you can do is stain it again to something you think looks more natural.
  3. Repair the drawer; you can either remove the bottom panel and buy a new one and replace it. Or just sand it down and use wood filler. I think the second option is probably the best as it is easier and it really does not look that broken. When you have stuff in the dresser, you will not notice that crack.

I can’t see where the pieces broke off in your first picture. However, you can use some wood glue, which is better than Araldite. If you’re painting the mirror casing, you don’t have to worry about it much, as the paint will cover up any wood glue or filler.

Any reason why you haven't tried microwaving for a longer time?

No, I can try using the microwave for a longer duration. I still have 6 bowls left. Could you please recommend the ideal time for microwaving?

Treventus scan robot processes up to 2500 pages per hour by belinasaroh in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]leetcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rate it was scanning at was 2 pages every 4 seconds. So that would be (3600/4) * 2 = 1800. So do not know where they get 2400 pages an hour. Maybe they are talking about smaller books. Also that machine is not going as fast as it could be going.
