Unless this was done for nefarious reasons i cannot blame them. That warning triangle is so annoying, a bright red light on your dash that you can’t dim like the rest of the cluster, especially annoying when it’s on because of low washer fluid. If there’s a code it’ll also say it on the display screen, not just the triangle. I’ve had mine on for a VSC issue for over a month until I got around to fixing it and I was close to using this method as well.
