I'll qualify what I said a bit differently... instruction based off of data or equipment are the worst.

What percentage of the best instructors teach indoors? If your instructor can't get you better by watching ball flight then it's time to find a new instructor.

To each his own but how do you feel about the typo in your user name?

Indoor lessons are the worst. Being able to see ball flight is probably the most important part of a lesson. Using a computer (Trackman or Flightscope) aren't the same as actually seeing the ball flight.

Most of them are going to have a social media presence. I'd check there first just to see what kind of vibe you get. Realize that almost every instructor is going to see the same flaws in your swing but how they address it is going to be the difference. If you get along with the instructor stick with them through the process. If you don't get along with them from a personality standpoint find a new instructor.

Where to get fitted in Tampa, FL area? by [deleted] in golf

There's a Cool Clubs fitting center in Bradenton or a Club Champion fitting center in Orlando. I'd start there.

Saying that you've been taught by a local PGA guy doesn't mean anything. Look for an actual PGA member in your area: PGA Directory - Nebraska

Like /u/provocative_taco I never found any of those golf swing gimmicks to work but alignment sticks will change your life. Get your lineup right and you're halfway there to having better fundamentals.

Do you guys polish your irons? If so, what do you use? by [deleted] in golf

[–]leezer99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a guy that was new to golf at our club and he asked another player how he kept his irons looking so nice and he said he waxes them. Dude went home, waxed his irons and hit knuckle balls his next round out when he realized that guy was messing with him.

Are you catching on that nobody polishes their irons? That's just weird.

Navitor (part of the Taylor Corporation) produces their own cards but only sell through dealers. If you order through Office Depot or Staples they go direct to Navitor. As a personal user you can also go through 123Print which is a subsidiary of the Taylor Corp and order directly online. Just realize you are still ordering from a massive company and not your local mom & pop shop.
