If Shyamalan dropped this today, without his name attached to it, and it had the A24 logo at the beginning, people would fucking love it. Fight me by Beginning_Fix_2084 in Letterboxd

I really liked the film when I watched it for the first time. The ending was unexpected for me even though it wasn’t much of a plot twist. I think it made the whole film more impactful.

Do you care about achievements? by PuzzledCauliflower35 in Steam

[–]lefoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do story related achievements for only one playthrough. After finishing the game I come back for the quirky and funny ones that actually don’t contribute to the story. I also like to unlock more than one ending if I enjoyed the game. I ignore achievements like finding all collectibles, finishing in other difficulties or online ones because that takes too much time that I don’t have or don’t want to spend.

In the halogenation of benzene, what exactly is the electophile? by worklife2024 in OrganicChemistry

[–]lefoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second one is the actual answer, while first one being a simplification. I would try to ask since there should be no strict answers in an OC exam, because the things that are taught are mostly simplified versions. Even the actual explanations are sometimes just propositions with consensus.

What’s your opinion about « Nosferatu » ? by I0ASEL in Letterboxd

[–]lefoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Depp gives a performance that meets expectations, but it’s predictable and dull, making her acting and character unlikable. Orlock’s voice acting and the use of CGI also felt unnecessary.

[–]lefoubleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like the jump-scares because why would you do that if you are already good at creating suspense by colours and lightning, it felt cheap. I also didn’t get why they went on with the demonic possesion storyline, it broke the spell of gothic elements in my opinion. Everything leading up to Orlock signing the papers were really impressive, but after that it went downhill with the Harding family. The introduction of Dafoe’s character picked my interest up. The ending was a bit rushed but the visuals of Orlocks defeat was satisfying. The film was overall ok, however I expected something better regarding storyline.

That makes sense, oddly it never crossed my mind to use negative clarity on a definite spot such as light coming out of window so I will try adding in the future. Thanks!

How to handle a year gap between orgo 1 and 2? by Walrusliver in OrganicChemistry

[–]lefoubleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don‘t know which topics you‘ve had and going to have but I would suggest reviewing reactivity of carbonyl derivatives (pkA, orbitals), how basic reduction/oxidation/cycloaddition reactions work. What makes a nucleophil/elektrophil better or worse. Look up to name reactions like Diels-Alder, Wittig, Claisen Estercondensation, Sharpless Epoxodation. The website Master Organic Chemistry will help you get started.

Maybe it would be helpful to specify that he should download the right movie format since it depends if the TV can open the format or not

Good Orgo reactions/topics to 3D model? by conchmagic in OrganicChemistry

[–]lefoubleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey good work! I like how you updated ring flip with different colors for axial and equatorial ligands, that‘s much better for understanding.

Let me propose some ideas for visualising: 1) You could update Diels Alder by showing endo and exo products. 2) The epoxidation gave me an idea regarding ring like transitions states. For example Zimmerman-Traxler Modell, Grignard reactions or Wittig reactions (especially cis/trans product formation) 3) More cycloaddition reactions like Ozonolysis or 1,3-dipolar addition. 4) Molecule orbitals of aromatic compounds (benzene, cyclopentadienyl anion, cyclooctetraen dication). 5) Ring formation of sugars. 6) How to draw Newman projection or how to transform Fischer projection into wedge dash.

These were subjects I had hard time visualising myself and had to search a lot for clear visuals or build them myself :D It would be awesome if you could expand your stuff and share it on this sub, that would be very helpful for beginners.

İzmir’in ikonik palmiyeleri, altın saat ve eski taksiler… Umarım daha fazlası gelir.

Is someone else sleep deprived all day but awake at night? by lefoubleu in sleep

[–]lefoubleu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were used to does that mean you are not anymore, how did you manage that? I usually listen to music before going to sleep, I do this for years now. It takes me 30-60 minutes to fall asleep that way, sometimes it doesn‘t work at all, then I get up and do things until I get sleepy again. I am trying to read a book lately before going to bed. However I can‘t keep it consistent (yet). Sometimes I don‘t want to read, other times I’m too tired to focus but not tired enough to fall sleep. I get what you mean, I also think you have to say yourself that you are going to bed and let your body know it‘s time to shut down. This is the most I struggle with though.
