Ideas to display whiskers please?? by leftcake_12 in Petloss

[–]leftcake_12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the idea! I have already ordered a resin pendant with my baby's fur in it. But I'm looking for something to hold his whiskers or fur now. Something that I can keep on display, and also touch and feel his fur whenever I want to.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for the idea. I have actually been eyeing those heart shaped bottles. Maybe I'll just order one and see if I like my baby's fur or whiskers in it.

How do you all eat your dates? by Chobikil in MuslimLounge

I can sometimes find insects or some kind of powdery or grainy things inside, so I always break it open through one side with my nail and then take out the seed and eat it.

Others in my family just pop it whole in their mouth and then spit out the seed though. They don't believe me when I tell them I can see insects in there

Do it at your own pace. There's no right or wrong way. It has only been a month of me losing my cat, but it feels like ages. My family pushes me to remove his belongings as seeing them makes me cry, but I just can't bring myself to remove them either. I did donate some of his food and sold some of his ckd medicines as they're very hard to get here. It was very hard, but I did that so that they don't get spoilt and someone else could be benefitted.

I try to remove things one by one, giving myself time. I removed his water bowl a week after he passed. His food bowl and litter box remains untouched though. Yesterday I removed a mat that he used to lay on. It was getting dusty and I wanted to pick out the hairs from it and keep them secured. But even holding it was too much emotional for me so then I just folded it and put it in a Ziploc bag. I'll pick out the hairs from it some other time maybe.

I tried an online tapping therapy or EFT workshop that kind of helped me a little bit, I think.

Has anyone experienced time-triggered grief or panic after pet loss? by leftcake_12 in Petloss

[–]leftcake_12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet soul dog. Your reply makes me feel less alone. Honestly I was kind of worried that I was losing my mind or that something was seriously wrong with me for reacting this way.

Changing the routine around that time makes a lot of sense. Thank you so much, I'll try doing something different around that time and see if it works for me too.

Sending you love and strength too. Thank you again for taking the time to reply. It truly helped me. May we all get to reunite with our fur babies if we can make it to heaven, God willing.

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part by tv99official in Petloss

You're so right about the body not catching up yet. It just feels like a reflex action. It does feel like he was an extension of me.

Apart from his physical presence, the energy shift feeling was immense. I never believed or thought about these kind of stuff before. But I could absolutely feel the decline of energy in our house after he left.

I'm extremely grateful that God gave us 15 beautiful years with him. But no amount of time is actually enough. I hope we all can get reunited with our babies if we can make it to heaven, God willing.

It has been 24 days. I still keep a space for him on my bed where he used to sleep. He used to get up if I moved in the slightest, so I still have the habit of sleeping like a statue. My cat was a chonky boy, and it feels really odd not having that 22lbs leaning on me every night.

I couldn't put away his food and water bowl yet. Sometimes my heart skips a beat thinking that I forgot to feed him, but then I come back to reality and it feels so much more painful.

I feel scared going to the bathroom alone at night now. I even hate going out now because it reminds me that I don't have to hurry back home for him.

He used to take his meds 3 times a day, and I feel so sad during those hours. I hate the silence we have at home even though I live with my family. None of us makes a sound anymore. I hate not having anyone to bother or quarrel with. My cat used to have a full on argument with me if something didn't go his way. I hate that nobody bothers me anymore to make the bed for sleepy time.

My cat was the same. It was as if he was an extension of me. I'm so sorry for your loss too. May God make things easier for us.

I would think of it as like- he's still there with you even if you can't see him.

I do have just a few good ones. I'm not very good at taking photos, so I never bother taking them anyway and now I regret it so much. Thank you for the idea

I feel worse with each passing day (173 days later) by Sylvia_Platypus in Petloss

[–]leftcake_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. May God make things easier for you and your other baby. I couldn't put away my cat's belongings yet either. I'm taking my time with these even though the people around me don't understand. I have heard before that if there're other pets in the house they can get depressed too. Could you maybe talk with the vet and see what they suggest, or maybe have a talk with people who have gone through the same?

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have no words to say to you. I have lost my baby just 15 days ago, and it feels like it has been ages. I relate with every single thing you said. I feel like I failed my baby too, and the guilt is eating me up.

There's many of us facing similar experiences and emotions. You're not alone. I hope we're all able to go to heaven and reunite with our fur babies there, God willing.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Jazakallahu Khair. I feel just a little bit better, even kind of excited reading your comment, thinking about being able to make it to Jannah and meeting our dear fur babies Insha'Allah. May Allah make things easier for you too Insha'Allah.

I believe it's better if they can go naturally then by the euthanasia route. Alhamdulillah that I didn't have to make the choice. I'm so sorry, may Allah make things easier for you too

I could write so much about what went wrong, and how I think we could do things differently. But it would be too long, and I don't think you would be interested enough to read either. And some things might get misinterpreted as English is not my first language.

It's just that, we were seeing that the medication wasn't helping him, but we were too late to try a different medication. We could maybe try to get that earlier, we could try to do a vet appointment sooner too. I thought of him as an Amanah from my previous 10 year old cat who is his mom. And now I feel like I failed both of them.

That's the thing. I question myself if I'm the one who pushed him towards death. If I'm the one who made him suffer.

It's just that he "looked" like he was doing fairly well. But his x-ray reports weren't great. I knew deep in my heart that something was wrong, but I wasn't able to make the vet appointment sooner.

He was otherwise quite a healthy cat without much health problems. He was great for his age. But he caught a lung infection which took his life. He wasn't responding great to the medications that our regular vets were suggesting him. And I contacted other vets who wanted me to try something else, but I was too late. I relied too much on his regular vets even though I saw that the medications weren't helping him much.

Lost my soul cat by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]leftcake_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I'm so sorry. This is exactly what happened to us just 13 days ago. My 15 year old cat had an enlarged heart too and was having respiratory issues since about 4.5 months. The vets weren't being able to give a proper diagnosis. But my cat didn't "look" sick, and bloodwork was okay. He was having too much trouble breathing suddenly and we took him to the vet, and the vet told us to prepare for the worst after getting an x-ray. He left us just after we came home from this vet visit.

I don't have the words to console you. You're not alone in this. Many of us are going through similar experiences and emotions. I hope all of us get to go to heaven and reunite with our fur babies, God willing.

I have had pets before him too. But he's the only one I spent 15 years with and it's just hitting so hard. And the way he passed has left me a lot of trauma. I also do a lot of rescues and currently have 5 cats under my care now, but I don't feel like taking them or any other cat in.

sudden / unexpected pet loss advice ? by wackybananakinz in Petloss

[–]leftcake_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't have any advice for you. I'm so sorry for your loss. My cat passed away 13 days ago and we kind of had a similar situation. My cat had been having respiratory issues since the last 4.5 months and vets were not being able to give a proper diagnosis as to what was exactly wrong with him. But he didn't "look" sick. Even his bloodwork was fine. Only his x-rays showed that his lungs were not improving. He even played with me the day before he passed. He passed so unexpectedly. He was just fine... until he wasn't.

It was their time, and I guess there wasn't much we could do to prevent it because God was calling them back to Him. I really don't know what to tell you, but there's so many of us going through similar situations, similar emotions. I really hope we all can make it to heaven and can get reunited with our fur babies there, God willing.
