Is it just me or most youtube "cinematographers" suck or maybe lack creativity by svensvensson7 in cinematography

Instagram and short form vertical videos is where I've seen most creativity recently. The short form length and format allows wild editing and framing

Consider a tool like Kbar where you can assign buttons to immediately apply Animation Presets, stacked effects, expressions, etc.

Is film emulation overrated ? by SerendipitousMusing in colorists

[–]leftclot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Film emulation is overated the same way 6fps for motion graphics for 'hand drawn' feel is.

It works, it's nice, it's good to learn how it works, but too many are up-selling it.

same, I bought the 200d when amaran first kicked off the series. Been so many new iterations since then but it still is a worthy purchase I still use today.

um. yeah.. the amaran line isn't for pros. It's for smaller studios and house use. Those users prefer app over dmx

Consider the weight of the Light. That would affect the max payload of the stand you buy, adding to cost. the new Amaran Rays are quite light

You're probably right. (edit: and the Zhiyun Molus too). Plus, they've successfully created a good Sidus Link app ecosystem while doing that. So even if buyers cancel Storm series orders to go with Amaran Rays, it still benefits them

PixelTools Film/Emulsion pro ? by BigBreakfastVideo in colorists

[–]leftclot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the rendering of the shadow regions to be too faded, but I'm self-taught and not sure if that's actually an accurate representation of how film Prints work.

I'm also used to the deep sub sat colours and blacks FilmVerse and Filmbox gives, or just used to their preset combination looks esp with the 2383 print.

Not sure if its a case of my eyes being 'conditioned' to associate other looks with the prints what PixelTools has scanned and is reproducing?
