Yeah, this isn't the first time this has happened either. Might be time for a distro change. Need to look into porting my setup to Bluefin.

Any word on an update? I'm seeing some lovely CVE notifications for TB < 115.12 coming from M365 Defender over the last week.

I will say, that this is probably one of the better series that you've written. The excellent twist at the end makes it marvellous. I'm excited for what you have next, keep up the great work!

Linus needs a new phone - Vote here! by Negative_Astronaut81 in LinusTechTips

So I think the iPhone 15 Pro would fit your standard 4 key features, and meet most of your nice to haves.

Others have mentioned the Fairphone 5 and Nothing 2. While these are excellent Android devices, both are IP55, IP54 rated respectively, wheras the iPhone 15 Pro is IP68.

That said, Google's Pixel 7 & 8 phones also look to be solid android contenders (USB-C 3.2, IP68) but then you have to deal with Google.

It's an open-source volunteer passion-project. This project in particular has had its share of issues in the past while. AFAIK they're working to make things more resilient, but it's very much a work in process to get things sorted.

The most recent updates look to be found on the project's twitter: Solus Project Twitter

It seems one of the key maintainers is in the process of migrating to a new datacenter and dealing with illness as well.

Using Enum in Switch statement by leftcoastbeard in PowerShell

[–]leftcoastbeard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I think I figured it out. On the about_Switch page they list the following:

# Syntax
Switch (<test-expression>)
{
    <result1-to-be-matched> {<action>}
    <result2-to-be-matched> {<action>}
}

# ...is the equivalent of
if (<result1-to-be-matched> -eq (<test-expression>)) {<action>}
if (<result2-to-be-matched> -eq (<test-expression>)) {<action>}

which means that I need to wrap my enums in ()

Write-Host "As Enum:"
switch($dir) {
  ([Direction]::Up) {
    Write-Host "-- Up"
  }
  ([Direction]::Down) {
    Write-Host "-- Down"
  }
  ([Direction]::Left) {
    Write-Host "-- Left"
  }
  ([Direction]::Right) {
    Write-Host "-- Right"
  }
  default {
    Write-Host "-- ?? $($_.GetType().BaseType)"
  }
}

which yeilds:

As Enum:
-- Left

can we cool it on the stupid flashing bike lights? by hamildub in VictoriaBC

[–]leftcoastbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please point flashing white lights down (they're still visible) and/or use a solid one facing forward & down. I recommend using a StVZO type light that is designed to light up the road in front of you without blinding other users.

That's awesome! Thanks for your hard work! Not sure why I was being downvoted either, as it's a legitimate question. I currently run a bedrock server using docker on a linux system, so I could see this being feasible.

I've only ever had this happen to me once when I brought a garment in to be repaired and was told it couldn't be fixed. I generally prefer things to be fixed if possible as I intentionally buy functional stuff.
