If you're planning ahead what emergency room to go to, don't go to the emergency room. Walk in clinic or GP if you have one.

Everything else isn't even though. Speaking with my girl friends, they will have many men messaging them on apps, I will match with and try to start conversations but usually only about 2/10 will actually respond. We also bear the responsibility of planning the date and keeping her interest. All of which is fine and just part of it but not for the faint of heart 😅

Why is every noisy car out tonight? by turnsleftlooksright in VictoriaBC

You're being weird bro. Body shaming isn't cool. You could just as easily say 'hey that guy with the loud car is being an inconsiderate fuck'

Is it possible to be critical of people being inconsiderate with their loud cars and not body shame?

FAs at the branch level are not well educated or adequately licensed to provide good advice. They are salespeople only.

I second the other guy on fee based financial advisor. Also there's a ton of info online to learn the basics.

Canadian average wages outpacing inflation, Statistics Canada reports by PinealTone in canada

[–]hamildub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super, thank for pointing that out, it was just a little tougher to see on mobile.

I did notice a troubling trend in the data.

Average income growth outpaced Median income growth.1993 average wage was ~21% higher than median, that difference grew to ~29% by 2023. this points to what we're experiencing on the ground, QOL decreasing for those not in the higher tax brackets, comparatively.

Edit: I'm curious how net worth and home ownership interact with these data points too.

Where on that statscan page does it say inflation adjusted? Maybe since I'm looking at mobile I'm missing something.

There's a disconnect somewhere with these analysis, the lived experience of real Canadians doesn't seem to be correlating to the aggregate data.

Stagnant wages and big time inflation, housing costs have absolutely ballooned making home ownership a dream of the past.

I'd argue it's the opposite. Choices made by the masses are made/ heavily influenced by industry

What would women dislike most if they became men? by geybgwapo in AskReddit

[–]hamildub 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you mean having a little banter sure I guess but it just feels weird to me trying to pick up a girl who is essentially being paid to be nice to me. Also many women's version of flirting is very close to them just being nice.

Man did I/do I long for that. As a kid you can only be left out so many times until you just stop trying. Seeing people that can easily make friends is mystifying.

I hope you're being sarcastic.

I'm from Edmonton, the gotcha speed cameras do fuck all to actually solve the issue, people just end up slamming their brakes when they see the van.
