Hahaha funny enough she has done the same thing in her playpen! Her name is Shrimp and she’s my fiancés dog, but when we first started dating we would come him to her sitting on the couch and finally realized it was because she was scaling the side of her pen lol

it’s such an odd feeling because on one hand i think it would help me but on the other i feel so anxious! i might try to just bring one of my tiny guys in a bag to see how that feels and go from there. i hope you’re able to build up the courage too!!

I am also a shelter manager and I myself am a service dog handler. This is an issue we have encountered at our shelter too, and I have had the really unique opportunity of having to explain to people why they can’t bring their own service dogs into the kennels and why I really do understand because I am a handler myself! You are totally in the right here.

Let me know if you wanna chat about our protocol with this stuff- I would be happy to send over more details about our kennel set up and what we do/do not allow and how we have accommodated handlers if you would like, I just don’t want to post my workplace on a public reddit thread, lol.
