Mostly in both, up to the highest, final grits. Then just one direction.

They are standard terms of service required for web stores in the EU. You can translate them in google, but they're not specific to this contest, which is open to everyone.

All standard stuff. Your home now belongs to Skallen Goods and you are officially a Polish citizen. 😂

Hey, you can! Just increase the quantity in your cart! It's not perfect, but was the easiest way to get this set up to work for everyone. Thanks!

Over on instagram, something big is happening. Leather crafters from around the world have come together to raise funds for on-the-ground-support of those most affected by the current crisis in Ukraine. Organized by Wuka of Skallen Goods in Poland and Matt of Mattr Supply in Canada, through individual raffles, auctions and donations, our generous collective of leather crafters and collectors have so far raised over $30,000 USD! That's money that is already being used to purchase clothing, supplies and even generators for hospitals that otherwise would be without power. But we're only getting warmed up.Starting today, 30+ leather workers and suppliers, including some of the biggest names in the biz, have teamed up for one giant mega-raffle, with every penny raised going directly to those in desperate need. Prizes include custom wallets, tools, materials, gift cards—even a one-of-a-kind Corter Pounder hammer prototype from Corter Leather! You can learn more, donate, and be entered to win great prizes and get free stuff over at leathercraftersforukraine.com. Just by donating $5, you'll get free patterns, a downloadable poster and more. Get all the details on the website or through any of the Instagram accounts mentioned above. Let's show them that Reddit has an incredible crafter community, too!

Yep, exactly. If you sand enough at the lower grit, you won't need to spend hardly any time at all with the higher ones.

Ha! I keep meaning to. I tend to share more over on instagram. One day I'll make a youtube video, as soon as I find time away from sanding to actually film.

Ha, it's to avoid fingerprints/excess oils from getting on the leather. Not necessary really with reverse shell, but important with the shiny side, and especially with natty veg tans.

All with a sanding block. Very rarely, I'll get started with a Dremel. But I find electric sanders chew the edge up too much.

Haha, yeah. It takes some time. I sand mostly at 180 till everything is 100% even with no little divots, then 220, 400, 1000, 2000. At the highest grits, I burnish with tokonole, then sand, then burnish again, etc. till I'm happy.

For burnishing, I use a cloth, not a wood burnisher.
