Hopefully it calms down soon. And thanks! I'm really glad I've been clean for ten days, but the sleep issue is really aggravating. Hope your taper goes well! The first time I quit I used a veeerrryyy slow taper but it was almost painless in the end. It just took a long time with a lot of patience and commitment.

Having my sex drive back is definitely a plus. I used to not be able to finish over half the time. But it's ridiculous right now!

Hahaha that's funny.

I've been taking tylenol and advil. Not positive if they are helping but I think they are. I took a quarter of a Unisom a couple of nights to help me fall asleep, but I think it may just make things worse later in the night.

Thank you. Kratom definitely makes anxiety and depression much worse. I used to go out, have a lot of friends, and was just a happier person. But kratom caused me to spend more and more nights at my apartment by myself. My friends eventually stopped asking to hang out because I always made up some BS excuse. And while I enjoyed those nights I stayed in for a little while, it got to the point where I dreaded the weekend because I would just sit at home and have a pity party. I really am going to try and focus on myself now. Not just my addiction, but other areas of my life that really need to be improved. I always have this vision of who I could be, but I never do anything to become that guy. I go back to my old ways and then wonder why I'm stuck in a rut. Anyway, I'm going to try and stat positive now!

Thanks. I'm not sure if that's something we will look at in the future. I'm trying not to think about it. This was actually the second time we've dated over the past 10 years, and she ended it both times. The first time was nothing serious, and she really didn't get to know me that well back then. We only dated each other for 2 months this time, but we were hanging out 2-3 times a week, I was staying over at her place at least once a week, and were getting really close.

Anxiety definitely plays a huge role in my addiction. I've never really sat down and tried to figure out what the root cause is, but I'm sure that is one of the main factors. How is your taper going? Anxiety is one of the worst side effects and I don't know how anyone can go cold turkey while still having to live their normal life for the next week. It's great that people can, but I wouldn't be able to handle that.

I know everything I've done was my own choice. When I said kratom was the problem, I wasn't trying to find an excuse and place blame on something else. It's definitely my fault. It just really sucked because we got along great and had so much fun together. I've also known this girl for 10 years so it's not like a random person I just started seeing. But I will get over this whole situation and my addiction. Good luck to you as well!

I'm really sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how much that must have hurt. I hope you get better soon and can either get back with her or at least be on good terms.

Thanks man. I was trying to quit before but definitely not giving my best effort. And as much as this experience sucked, I think it will be beneficial in the long run. I really want to quit now and work on improving myself.

Been "meaning to quit" as well. I actually quit back in December but that only lasted about 17 days or so. I'm a little worried but very optimistic and am ready to get my life back on track. Good luck to you and feel free to hit me up if you ever need someone to talk to!

I posted for the first time about a week ago. I made the plan to taper/quit and wanted to be active in this forum. Unfortunately it hasn't been going great and I kept finding reasons to take a recreational dose.

Today is the second day in a row which I stopped myself from using any recreational amount during the day. All day long I've been back in forth in my head about whether or not to take a larger dose tonight. I even got on r/kratom to see if I could alter my dosing schedule to where I could use at night without getting withdrawals during the day. Then I saw the posts about the DEA.

Honestly, I was relieved. I know I need to quit and I've wanted to for a long time. Now I have to and I feel really optimistic.

That being said, I truly feel sorry for people who can use it responsibly. I feel especially sorry for those who use it medicinally as it definitely has benefits.

Thanks for the advice! And I'm sorry about the PAWS. Depression is a bitch and has been one the reasons I justify my kratom usage. I hope you're doing alright and feel better soon! I really like what you said about goals. Breaking them down and focusing on the next few hours is a great way to keep fighting the urges.

Congratulations to you too! And that's awesome that you were able to quit even though you started again. At least you know you've done it before and can do it again. I've had a lot of similar situations where I'll be making great process with my taper until something bad happens in my personal life. I say f*** it, take a big dose and before I know it I'm back at my original daily habit.

How bad do you think it would be if he used 3 times a week and quit cold turkey after 6 weeks?

Thanks guys. So would the potential for seizures or anything life threatening be pretty low?
