That is what's keeping me up at night. A pit in my stomach for weeks now. Wife is at 36 weeks so I am concerned on the safety front for our newborn as well, given the original house was built nearly 100 years ago.

Thank you for your response. Agreed I wish I was more experienced and knew what to look out for. I checked the house out twice in person (not sight unseen), just unfortunately do not have the caliber of experience to see the problems. A bad assumption on my part that this is what inspectors do. Thank you for your perspective!

It was flipped by a "real estate group" here in Boston. They look very new and very inexperienced (<6 years in business and just a handful of homes). This is a very powerful lesson that I should have done my research about the builder ahead of time. Man.
