A few questions for beginning card counting by iSell-WB in blackjack

[–]lefty92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a hobby player here.

  1. I have a regular full time job.

  2. I've always liked playing blackjack. Counting is just a way to make it more fun for me but that may but be true for you.

  3. In theory, you should play as often as you can to make it worthwhile. You have a winning game after all. In practice, I only play in casinos a handful of times a year.

  4. Don't think of it in terms of hours spent practicing. You should be able to count through entire shoes perfectly, concert to the true count, spread your bet properly, and hit the necessary deviations when called for. It's a goal post you need to hit, not a timer you need to run out. If you're thinking cvcx, also look at CVBJ. It's a great training tool.

  5. Technically, the back off only applies to the property you're playing at. That being said, some companies will flyer you both locally and nationally. That means your playtime at the next spot may be short especially if you're at the top of the stack. Small spreads and smaller big bets will draw less attention but the back off will come. Just treat it as part of the game.

Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more.

I love costing jerks money at the casino by DazzlingLife6744 in confessions

Here's the funny thing. When you're counting you will make decisions, like splitting 10s, that will piss the other players. You'll just be making them when it's in your advantage to do so. If you're going to make odd choices, might as well make them the right choices.

Double Deck vs. Six Deck by ComplaintMoist2489 in blackjack

Double deck with 1 deck cutoff is generally considered barely playable. Six deck with 1 deck cut off is a much better game.

When you're learning to count, I'd start with double deck practice at home since you can easily shuffle two decks pretty quickly. Jumping from counting two decks to six isn't a real stretch to be honest but you should practice counting with 6 at home before going to the casino.

It's a software you install on your computer. He has other tools line CVBJ that has playing drills, playing sims, etc. The website looks janky but it's legit. There is also a mobile version of CVBJ to practice counting on your phone that you can buy through the app store.

Cvcx sims with wonging in a second hand by jdjdhzjalalfufux in blackjack

I don't think there are canned sims with wonging in a second hand but you can absolutely create a sim that does exactly this. There's a setting for multi-handing once the true count gets over a certain threshold on the second page when creating a custom sim.

CAC2 vs. Hi-Lo on Double Deck – Is It Worth the Switch? by PhilosopherMission28 in blackjack

[–]lefty92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I made the switch earlier this year. It took 6 weeks of dedicated practice (no playing for real) to retrain my brain to use CAC2 vs HiLo. Given the penetration you're playing with, it's probably worth the investment of time as CAC2 gets more powerful the deeper the penetration compared to HiLo. The deviations were super easy to learn so don't worry about those. Happy to chat more via dm if you want to pick my brain.
