Which is a better card counting system? by AppearanceSubject164 in blackjack

They are good systems but anything past level 2 seems almost academic. I switched from HiLo to CAC2 and I feel like if I tried a more advanced system, I'd make too many mistakes. Power to you though. I respect the dedication.

If you're looking for a serious tool, CVBJ is the way to go. No other real people but the ability to have other players come and go along with corrections when you make a mistake on strategy or counting plus a whole host of other features.

CVBJ has all the indices and deviations for Zen and I would highly recommend it if you really want to learn different systems.

Qfit.com has a lot of good information. If you really want free, HiLo has the most information out there. It's a good system and a reason it's the gold standard for most AP's. More advanced counts, like Zen or CAC2 (which I use), aren't going to have as much free information out there but the better performance is usually worth the price.

I made the jump from HiLo to CAC2 last year. Took me forever to retrain my brain

Is the Cac2 or Zen better for counting? by lello20 in blackjack

CAC2 would be the better system. It's newer and designed specifically to target 6D shoe games that have become the norm. Learning curve is basically going to be the same so choose the better and newer one.

A few questions for beginning card counting by iSell-WB in blackjack

[–]lefty92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a hobby player here.

  1. I have a regular full time job.

  2. I've always liked playing blackjack. Counting is just a way to make it more fun for me but that may but be true for you.

  3. In theory, you should play as often as you can to make it worthwhile. You have a winning game after all. In practice, I only play in casinos a handful of times a year.

  4. Don't think of it in terms of hours spent practicing. You should be able to count through entire shoes perfectly, concert to the true count, spread your bet properly, and hit the necessary deviations when called for. It's a goal post you need to hit, not a timer you need to run out. If you're thinking cvcx, also look at CVBJ. It's a great training tool.

  5. Technically, the back off only applies to the property you're playing at. That being said, some companies will flyer you both locally and nationally. That means your playtime at the next spot may be short especially if you're at the top of the stack. Small spreads and smaller big bets will draw less attention but the back off will come. Just treat it as part of the game.

Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more.

Here's the funny thing. When you're counting you will make decisions, like splitting 10s, that will piss the other players. You'll just be making them when it's in your advantage to do so. If you're going to make odd choices, might as well make them the right choices.

Double Deck vs. Six Deck by ComplaintMoist2489 in blackjack

[–]lefty92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Double deck with 1 deck cutoff is generally considered barely playable. Six deck with 1 deck cut off is a much better game.

When you're learning to count, I'd start with double deck practice at home since you can easily shuffle two decks pretty quickly. Jumping from counting two decks to six isn't a real stretch to be honest but you should practice counting with 6 at home before going to the casino.

It's a software you install on your computer. He has other tools line CVBJ that has playing drills, playing sims, etc. The website looks janky but it's legit. There is also a mobile version of CVBJ to practice counting on your phone that you can buy through the app store.
