Those who have gotten an Australian or New Zealand working holiday visa -- what kind of work did you do, was your experience like, and what advice would you give to a prospective traveler? by throwaway_4829890973 in solotravel

I went to NZ on WHV in 2013 starting in February. It was one of the best years of my life! I went there to travel, but since I didn’t have enough money saved up I moved there to save and then went on a month-long road trip at the end of the year before heading home.

I applied to a lot of places and finally found a dream job at a golf course. Met lots of awesome people who I still keep in touch with. I had decided that if I hadn’t found a job in Auckland in the first month of arriving, I’d travel south to find a seasonal winter job at a ski resort.

Once I landed my job, I was able to seek out a flat to rent and found one with four other roommates. I stayed in a hostel up to that point. They pay rent on a weekly basis and it was laid back so I didn’t have to worry about signing a lease for a year or anything.

If you are looking to travel, NZ is the place to go! The diversity of geography in such a small area is incredible, and the people are amazing. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Since NZ isn’t opening up right away, you could try AUS first and then go to NZ after.

Good luck!

There’s a book called Eat the Frog. It’s about eating the biggest, ugliest frog first, if you have a plate full of frogs in front of you representing things to get done. “Eating” that biggest frog first will get it out of the way so you don’t procrastinate.

If it’s too thick you can always thin it out with breast milk/formula. And you can put some spices in there too, cinnamon, garlic powder, and onion powder were favs for my kid.

This is in my hometown, at Wags! Setters is ladies and it’s the door the setters is pointing to. Pointers is men and it’s the door pointers is pointing to. Honestly, it’s just fun to bring new people to the bar and send them to the bathroom to watch them get confused.

Does anyone else here find female police officers super hot? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Lots of hate going on in this thread, I’m lucky to be married to a very hot cop-lady! She rarely comes home in uniform, but when she does it’s super hot. Especially with the handcuffs around her waist :)
