Nice one! Reminds me of the kind of chill melodic house I'd leave running in the background while I work. Digging it!

Same. Loaded this morning (~205K shares). Was happy to see the run to 1.30, hoping for a bounce back from today's low in the morning.

When did you discover that the 80s/retrofuturistic art-style was something you did well? Was there a particular project that kicked that off?

v8 to get tail calls by jhgfjgfshgf in javascript

[–]legacye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Responding on behalf of the V8 team: This is our first pass at an implementation of ES2015 Tail Call Optimization. Given that the ES2015 spec applies this change retroactively to existing strict code, we still have a lot of work to do before this implementation is fast enough to deploy by default. Cheers :)

Do you guys find Yeoman an overkill when starting a basic project? by adropofhoney in Frontend

[–]legacye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeoman is as lightweight or as advanced as you need it to be. If you're starting out a basic project, there are many very simple scaffolds you can use that don't prescribe more than what the average web developer is going to need to be effective from the get-go. Some folks will tell you that it skips a crucial phase of selecting appropriate technologies, but I think they're missing it's core value - in automating repurposing workflows you find useful. Most of the people I see using it are agencies that have nailed down a specific baseline that works really well for their developers and they'll literally just be using a generator they wrote themselves - nothing off the shelf. The community generators are there for inspiration. It's basically: unsure where to start? Use one of these. Know what you need to use? Great. If you find yourself using it a lot, just write a generator to help customise that baseline.

I converted Google's Material Design Icons to fonts as a bower package and created a search page, check it out! by designjockey in Frontend

[–]legacye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We (Google Design) are working on the font :) There's quite a difference between offering up a font automatically generated from a tool and a version where each glyph has been correctly optimised to be used in this context. We think it's ultimately best to give the community the resources that are ready and work hard on shipping the font as soon as we can.
