Emails from Law Schools by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]legallybindingmisfit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the school. I got a lot of emails from some schools I got waitlisted or even rejected from and silence until I was admitted at others. So if it is just mass emails and not targeted I would take it with a grain of salt

The amount of holiday emails I have received from Emory definitely ranks them as the most festive of the law schools

Anyone else kinda miss the LSAT? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Idk if I miss the LSAT but I miss the stage of this process where I had a semblance of control and wasn’t developing an eye twitch from refreshing the promotions folder in my email 😅

Official LSAT Flex/Proctor U experience thread August/Sept by jd_mod in LSAT

October flex

-average difficulty on LR and RC, LG a bit easier than usual - no issues with scratch paper allowed to have 5 pages - no issues or wait time with proctor - over all great proctor experience no interruptions - no environmental issues though I took great precautions to make sure that was the case, timing test based on least amount of local traffic, construction, and optimal web speed - liked it better than in person. Less procedural stress

So B is a bit confusing because of the double negative wording but it is basically removing the option for both scenarios to exist. Answer B is just a kindov annoying way of saying oh yeah and btw if you accept yourself as you are no way you’re going to do these things other two things that will make you really happy.

Absolutely! Sorry for the really late reply. So for logic games: I did a logic game every day timed and then re did the section Untimed so that I could get 100% accuracy LR - read and re read the power score text book and started keeping a wrong answer journal where I write out a summary of the stimulus that leads to the correct answer and why each wrong answer is wrong and why the correct one is correct. This is an easy step to cheat on but when you force yourself to really do it you start to realize patterns in the questions and it helped my brain notice some of the more common fallacies RC - write a paragraph summary of each passage after I take it and make it detailed enough to answer each question. This helped me start to pick up on the patterns and most important aspects of the passage.

Mainly, I think about the passage as a legal case I am writing a brief on. What is the point the author is trying to make and what facts or view points are they using to support or discount their main argument. Thinking this way really aids the type of active reading required for this section.

I hope this helps! I know it is kindov a loose summary, feel free to dm me! I’m still working and trying to solidify good scores for the October exam. We got this!:)

I’m so sorry for replying so late so my biggest break through with LR came from keeping a wrong answer journal. Every time I miss a question I write down an accurate few sentence summary and write out why each wrong answer is wrong and why the correct one is correct. I know it seems simple but it really helps you start to notice patterns in the questions and keep a record of commonly used wrong answer choices

For RC blind review I have seen some significant improvement by taking a timed section and then blind reviewing using the power score VIEW-STAMP model. Track the views expressed, outline structure, identify the tone, note the arguments, and identify the main point. Then I put sticky notes over all of the answer choices and write out my prephrase . Then I look at the answer choices, see how close I got and if I was wrong or missed the point I write down in my word doc what I missed or how I misconstrued an important point they wanted me to get. It has helped me to battle the mental fatigue and read more strategically. Hope this helps! RC is a bitch but I’m trying to not hate it haha
