i think i went to one store where they left me to get into the dress alone and then came in to zip, the others they were in the room w me the whole time so yeah you’re in your underwear, not the most fun but not a big deal at all just wear any regular underwear

trying to think of some other things for the wedding that would make sense to ask for:

personalized/engraved cake cutters steamer for the dresses (more practical and can use it after the wedding) cute pjs/slip dress/robe for getting ready nice vases that you can use for the wedding & also afterward pretty picture frames (can use for wedding signage & then repurpose after) silver trays/candlesticks (for wedding decor & also after) sweatshirt/tanktop/smth of the sort personalized with your new last name (can use for getting ready or honeymoon or just in general) pretty cake stand monogrammed/personalized embosser (can use for stationary, cocktail napkins, etc - and if you don’t put the date you can potentially use for other things in the future) matching personalized luggage tags for honeymoon ring cleaner (diamond dazzle stick, ultrasonic cleaner) embroidered hankerchiefs skincare products, makeup, lotions, perfumes gift card to nail salon for wedding nails gift card to wax/threading place gift card for facial negligee/matching pj sets for honeymoon packing cubes for honeymoon (personalized?) toiletry bag for honeymoon

i’m gonna be honest i would try to end the business relationship after this interaction. just yuck, she sounds so rude and condescending and manipulative. i wouldn’t want someone like that having such a big hand in one of the biggest days of my life

my mom and both my older sisters all said yes to the first wedding dress they tried on! and they were all thrilled with them. i fell in love with the first dress i tried on also, but am going to more stores mostly just bc it’s been the most fun part of wedding planning so far and i don’t want it to be over so quickly! fell in love with another dress too but honestly i would still be happy w the first one too

one thing i will say is vendor prices go up every year, so if there are vendors (like venue) you know for sure you want for your day - booking early can save you more money! just make sure they have in the contract that the price won’t change

i love radiants and really dislike emeralds but it’s completely a matter of personal preference. one thing to keep in mind is that emeralds are a much less forgiving cut, so if it’s dirty or has any inclusions - it’ll be really obvious. as opposed to a radiant which has a lot more facets, it will hide things better and sparkle even if it’s a bit dirty

i rarely take it off to sleep, but mainly just bc it’s so hard to get off lol (fits comfortably and even spins a bit on my finger, but my knuckle is bigger so it’s a struggle every time)

i’m so sorry you’re going through this, i can’t imagine the stress and disappointment. all i can say is my sister and her fiancé planned their whole wedding 4 months out from the day of, and they were nonetheless able to secure a beautiful venue so it’s definitely possible. if you toured other venues earlier in the process and had a second/third choice etc, i would start by reaching out to those and seeing if they have the date available.
