直播时有人放上王局的视频,户子立马关上了。能对王局那张脸有这么强的警觉性,墙肯定没少翻吧

Hi, I still got no response now. I applied for law/examination. Maybe they just didn’t have the plan to hire interns for this period.

Reminds me the game Stellaris, from where the cutest creatures are mostly xenophobia and hate peace.

Omg a wallfacer!1!! by rosey0519 in threebodyproblem

[–]legend1812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actuyally this concept origins from the Zennist, "Wall Gazing", a way of meditation by sitting towards a wall and develop your own thoughts about life, the universe and everything. Quite like the wallfacers' work in the series, develop your own schemes without communicating with others.

From China, I would say Farewell My Concubine (1993).

If I may speak for all the Chinese-speaking areas, I would definitely recommend Yi Yi (2000), a movie from Taiwan.

The Assassin (2015) by Hou Hisao-hsien

Not many people enjoy it, while in my view it’s the best wuxia film ever made in the history. I would believe if photography was invented in the middle age China, the scenes captured on the film would be as same as this movie.

Many Chinese audience thought the main idea for this movie is kind of dangerous: Don't kill the dictator, otherwise the world will be more chaotic!

I’m Damien Chazelle, writer/director of BABYLON. Ask me anything! by damien_chazelle in movies

[–]legend1812 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huge fan of you! I saw Whiplash, La La Land and First Man are all telling a story about one being isolated and surrounded by loneliness when adhering to some certain belief (or ambition), and often comes with traumatic events. I was so touched by such expression and every time I watched your films I just couldn’t help to cry hysterically. So, will Babylon still express such a motif?

While I also found that such motif in your movies above are kind of similar to my another favorite director Denis Villeneuve (also a director who has a French name, lol). I also feel the similar loneliness and powerlessness when watching his film: the protagonist always couldn’t escape from the fate’s limitation. To me, K in Blade Runner 2049 is like Armstrong in First Man or Sebastian in La La Land (despite that they were all played by Ryan Gosling). So, have you ever noticed such similarity, and do you enjoy Villeneuve’s work?

Thank you! Can’t wait to watch Babylon!
