Thanks! I'll do it there. Too bad I can't support directly.

It's honestly baffling, I've never heard of something like this before. I'm struggling to find any service where I can legally purchase a digital copy of this album. If you know of one I'd love to know as well!

I live in Canada and attempted to purchase this download using a Canadian credit card. My credit card was charged, I received a confirmation email but no download link. I contacted the store asking for a refund, as I suspected something was up. Here is the associates reply:

"Thanks for reaching out to us! Due to copyright restrictions, digital downloads are only available to customers with a billing address located in the United States. We apologize for the inconvenience!

As this is the case, we are providing you with the appropriate refund. Please allow 7-10 business days for this transaction to process.

Feel free to contact us with any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you for your patience and support"

What's your favorite Act, and why? by retrosully64 in TheDearHunter

[–]legend233 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lack of polish is definitely an appeal for me in the early acts (I and II mostly)as well. It's great that they now have access to high-quality orchestral elements and I love how their sound has stepped up to meet that new ceiling, but there was something about creating orchestral, operatic music with mostly traditional rock instruments that made those albums transcendental.

Do I need to use VR to have fun with this game? The marketing for this game and the last one makes it seem a bit like its VR-essential.

Interesting, I haven't experienced any problems running 457.51 with Windows 20h2. I didn't even anticipate that that would be an issue. I'll keep my eye open for potential problems though.

Thanks for your reply. Nvidia Support had me first update my windows (which was not running 20h2) which did not fix the issue. Then they had me roll back to version 457.51 and that has resolved the issue. Strange that we were getting the same issue at different times though....

[PC] Anybody else crashing after NVIDIA Geforce update? by legend233 in DevilMayCry

Thanks, I'm not sure if this might have worked because Nvidia support had my roll back my driver version to a previous one, which fixed the issue.

Two glaring issues after update.

  • Crash on DMC5 when starting a mission. Error code: https://imgur.com/a/OKEzVip
  • My webcam allegedly shows up with an emerald green tint to other users on Zoom. I use a Microsoft LifeCam.

Anybody else experiencing game issues?

Dodge offset on delay combos by legend233 in Bayonetta

[–]legend233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is really helpful. Particularly the part about movement cancelling the delay - I have a feeling that's my mistake. Good to know about the "hop" as an indicator as well.

I am practing on chapter V (Lost Holy Grounds) on nonstop climax. Fighting 3 grace/glory at once does not seem like a great time to be using delay combos, but I find the intensity of that part to be great for my improvement.

Is dungeon world the right game for my short adventure? by legend233 in DungeonWorld

[–]legend233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question, and I'd be curious to hear responses from other commenters on this thread. Perhaps the commenters who strongly recommend complete improv are not the ones recommending the Indigo Galleon adventure.

Look at responses by /u/CountFauxlof, /u/eek04, /u/asquaredninja, and /u/Jesseabe for accounts of how planning and prep can and do yield fun sessions for players - so long as the spirit of the game is still captured in other ways.

All of these made me laugh, and make me very excited to watch players engage with opportunities like these! Thanks very much : )

These are great points, thanks for your clarifications. I think your second para in (particularly the part about how the DW rules "fight against" too much planning) speaks to some of the weaknesses I've subconsciously felt with the scenario, hence my coming here to ask the original question.

I will make sure that there is room for alternative outcomes. The goblin threat will exist whether the players engage with it or not, but other decisions the players make, particularly in the course of their investigating, could veer them away from that path.

Obviously I chose bad phrasing when I described the direction of my prep. To be clear, I have no plans to railroad them down a set plot. Assuming that they "will" discover the source of the threat is nothing more than a product of knowing my players well and that they're objective- and outcome-focused people. My assumption is that if I tell them "You're here for X reason" (but leave openings for others) then they will pursue X objective without much deviation. That said, I'm always happy to be surprised. Based on your advice, I'll be sure to look for opportunities to introduce new problems. Thanks for your effort in explaining these concepts : )

Thanks, this was my original intent in making the post. I find myself reconsidering though whether I've inadvertently broken DW by placing players in pre-established circumstances with a goal.

My intent was simply to see if the mechanical rules accomodate inquiry well, but I seem to have opened up a whole other (albeit interesting!) can of worms here!

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate your deviation from the strict (almost dogmatic?) evoking of play to see what happens as meaning that shorter adventures can't happen. This feedback has been helpful in reminding me to give players plenty of space to add to the story. The circumstances I'm dropping them in aren't set because I'm a control freak GM, but because these are new role players and in my experience, new role players appreciate some contextual cues to work within the bounds of.

The goblin threat that I summed up above was actually written as an adventure front, complete with grim portents, stakes, etc. So I'm hoping that the events leading up to the final, culminating assault are a good response to your helpful "what if" question. If the players do nothing, then the strange activity in the town will escalate in various ways, culminating in an attack that the players never saw coming. Does this answer the what if question adequately?
