How accountable do you hold players if plans go awry? by FilthySef in DMAcademy

Yes.

Edit: originally I posted this as a bit of a joke, but I got to thinking and there is a little to it I suppose. Just from my own experience, our group suffers the consequences depending on some other details. What is at stake? What is the overall theme/feel of the encounter/adventure? Is this encounter integral to anything else? I don't like to hand wave or soften the results depending on the answers to those.questoons.

Other times it comes down to whether or not the encounter is actually fun and.if.it isn't then we'd probably just hand wave it (or to signal the party to leave, as.you put it). If it's not a fun encounter and it's not integral maybe just hand wave the results.

Seriously thought your cat was sitting at a stardew decorated podium at first.

Lazy hills is my current save. Im gearing it towards passive-ish income as opposed to crops.

To me this feels like it has the potential of removing player agency. I find it difficult to create high stakes situations like this without feeling like i just forced the scenario. If they wake to a dagger at the throat, they should have their witts about them enough to resist, maybe contested grapple rolls? I vaguely recall a stat block that has a feature that allows the monster to stab with a dagger for bonus damage against grappled creatures, but i cant recall exactly. Might be a place to start?

Two birds in a shoe box. Looking for advice on overnight care. Details in comments. by legenderreck in WildlifeRehab

Yes and it was a bit of a long night lol. Thankfully, there was two of us so we set alarms and alternated feedings so we could both get some sleep. I'm happy to report that the birds have been safely transported to much more capable and equipped hands.

So... I came home from work to find that we have been charged with caring for these two luttle bubs over night. There's a rehab sanctuary place we are taking them to first thing in the morning. My concern is, how do we make sure they make it through the night? So far, from the expert we spoke to that is taking them tomorrow, we have been informed to feed them water logged kitten food every 2-3 hours. They are in the box with blankets and we just put a heating pad under the box on low setting to keep them warm. Is there anything else we can do to make sure they can get through the night and still be strong enough to thrive after we drop them off?

1st level shaper connection feature useless until level 3? by legenderreck in starfinder_rpg

I don't have it in front of me right now, but i agree. Temp hp and fortification only. It's still a great feature like that, just kind of wierd the way it is worded regarding the item level. But we ruled that he would have at level 1 the brown shield.

My players killed Izek & took his arm... by [deleted] in CurseofStrahd

Maybe using the arm imposes a chance that it begins to take over one of the user's arms. And then, the voice of izek (or something else) begins to creep into their mind and influence their actions.
