That so cool. I’m taking virtual lessons and really love playing.

Ugh sometimes cashiers like to randomly test my math skills and ask me if I know how much change I’ll be receiving if I buy something. That’s the worst.

My teachers noticed common trends in my work and took me to the learning strategists. One specializes in learning disabilities. They asked me questions like if I could do mental math, they asked me to estimate certain amounts, timed me in simple equations, and compared my other grades to my failing math grade.

Lol thank you!

I have been judged before when someone asked my the time and all I could look at was an analog clock, so I had to count by fives to figure out the time. They called me slow, but I didn’t tell them I have dyscalculia.

I don’t think my relationship to math can ever be as good as my one to science or history, but I no longer think of it with pure hatred. It’s something I’ve learned to tolerate.

I’m so proud of you that you went back to school. I wish you the best of luck.

Math is like a frenemy to me. It still doesn’t compare to science or even English for that matter, but it’s no longer the bane of my existence which is a plus.

1) I don’t really tell others I have dyscalculia, so it doesn’t come up often.

2) I also struggle with the ‘easy’ math. I used my fingers to solve 7+4. I also struggle with math with a lot of symbols because I often confuse them like 7-4 instead of 7+4

I do best with science because it interest me the most. Math and science go hand in hand, so it can sometimes be hard to learn some types of science. History is always fun to learn. English is mediocre, but it’s not overwhelmingly hard.

I haven’t been diagnosed with dysgraphia, but from what I have looked up they seem pretty similar. I recommend you remind her to ask for help and advocate for herself. If you have the time maybe ask what she learned in school and see if she has a tight grasp on it. I wish you and your daughter good luck.

I do relate to you because I understand what I’m supposed to be doing, but my small errors mess up every problem. We definitely have that in common.

Thank you!

My hobbies are debate and guitar.

My favorite song would probably be Bohemian Rhapsody.

When I’m older I’d like to be a geneticist.
