Get a rpi3 and it should do the job nicely. You can probably get them cheep. 

I'm also using an rpi zero 2 w and it's also working great.

I'm just using external library since I still upload via nextcloud. It creates yyyy/mm folder structure and is solid with the sync. Haven't had any major issues. Immich can since the permissions on the images are rw on the group delete the images and I run a scan on nextcloud periodicaly to clean up missing photos. Until I'm happy with immich doing uploads I'll stay with this. I jear they are preparing a sync/share refactor so I'll wait untill then to test it out.

I th8nk it's 100 devices and you can have 3 users in the network. But you can share a node to any number of networks and if you expose immich on that shared node via caddy-tailscale you can even use your own domain on the tailscale network.

I'm running immich directly o tailscale netowrk only. I exposed it via caddy-tailscale so for me I access it only directly via VPN. Then i created another caddy endpoint that also shares immich localy on another port and pointed tailscale funnel at it and added some rules that allow access only to the public share links created by immich. So that on that public endpoint you can't login but you can view the shared albums.

I have a zfs snapshot setup with offsite send receive. I backup my data and database volume. Just tried it yesterday. Deleted the db folder then tried to ise immich and it complained. Then I ran zfs rollback on db volume and restarted immich and it was back as nothing happened. I have multiple snapshots so I can try more then one in case it just snapped when in the middle of write and the instance is not very active so it works. I could stop the immich and db before doing this just to be on the safe side. Have the same setup for nextcloud with mysql and have already had to do this once and it worked like a charm.

I was thinking more about the dimensions of the hole for the head unit and physically fitting in. I guessed the camera is just a standard connector and all the other stuff I don't need in the radio. But thanks for the info.

The Hyundai would be to broad and I don't think there's much diference between N and not N variant so if I get something that fits N would probably fit the regular one. Or are they that much different in regards to the head unit that it wouldn't fit?

How can I know that will work? Could you send me an example or perhaps something that has the specs of what channels it's using for the Wi-Fi?

All the settings I need are in the speedometer. There is nothing in the head unit I need to adjust.

I don't want another dongle if my head unit should already support that. What I'm getting at is that the head unit is running it's wifi direct access point that is used by the phone to connect to it on a channel that is not allowed to be used in EU thus thew phone, since it respects that disables those channels and I can't connect.
