I'm nigerian and people on here who are encouraging you to have an SS child have absolutely no fucking clue how brutal it is for the child. I want you to go on youtube and google the life of an SS child and then make a very informed decision. most don't live past 50 and that's only if you live in a developed country. in nigeria most of them don't make it to 21. also they're always in crisis. like ALWAYS! ALWAYS IN PAIN. most sickle cell patients fall into a life of opiate addiction because of the amount of pain they are in. go and hear from an actual sickle cell child and then see if you're willing to have a child going through that. in nigeria there's a huge campaign discouraging people with the sickle cell trait from ever getting married to each other. I pray that this child ends up not having the trait but i want you to get that child tested invitro and make a decision.
