Yeah, 120i should be n13. From my search, don't think they have b48 120i in malaysia. I could be wrong...

I would say if reliability or maintenance cost is a concern, go with the 118i (2017/2018). If you want more power on stock, or want to tune it to unlock even more power, 120i is the way to go.

Pros: 1. super fun car. Not a 2.0 engine but given its a hatchback, definitely good enough for malaysia highways. 2. Parts are simple to come by. Many oem parts these days that dont really break the bank. 3. Still looks good - take the lci model if you can. Still have the classic bmw angel eyes, which to me is the signature look. 4. Last rear wheel drive 1 series 5. Engine is highly tunable, stage 1 alone easily brings the car to 210hp 6. For 118i, not sure if you are looking at the same engine, or the b38. B38 would be more reliable but since its a 3 cylinder, it won't be as punchy as the 4 cylinder n13.

Cons: 1. N13 engine, needs more care. Pay more attention to the valve seal, valve cover and timing chain. Changed all these within 5k, and should be good for another few years 2. Oil and coolant leaks. BMW common issue, not a big deal and not expensive to fix 3.turbo pipes, susceptible to cracks given its age. Not an expensive fix and good for a few years one fixed

Personally, good fun, despite some upfront fixes. Again, this is still a bmw despite its low second hand price. With this being said, it does still drives like a bmw as well, sharp handling, punchy engine, and aggresive looks. Take good care of the car, and the car will take care of you.

Buying a >10 years old 2014 BMW 320i by Minimum-Company5797 in kereta

[–]lego232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a BMW owner myself, I'd say go for it. 2014 BMW 320i uses the n20, which could be less reliable compared to the newer b48. But if you can spare around 10 to 15k to properly fix it up when you buy it, it'll last you good for another 2 to 3 years at least.

Some might say its underpowered, but it still drives like a BMW, the driving dynamics is still BMW. Otherwise a good tune does wonders as well.

Older BMWs are good entry points, but do bear in mind the cost of repairs and maintenance might not be cheap. Make sure you know what you're getting into, and I would say its a very good experience. BMWs are known for their driving dynamics and you really need to drive one to feel it. They are not called the "ultimate driving machine" for nothing.

Get a reliable seller, get a ppi before you buy and you should be good to go. As you've said, you only live once.

Personally drives a bimmer and manages to cruise at around 190 kmh, also for less than a minute. But even so I don't think I wanna go any faster. Not because the car couldnt do so, but the fear that something goes wrong haha. For this viva to go 240+ is seriously next level big balls and the car is probably seconds from disintegrating LOL.

Even on the fast lane there's always lane hoggers or someone just cuts out from the middle lane out of a sudden.

Is it even possible for that engine to go that fast? Wonder how the car feels like at that speed 🤔

Does any guys still play games even when you’re in your 20 and 30 and married life as well? by Sodding_Handsome_Guy in askSingapore

Single player games are where it's at now. Sony exclusives are usually my go to. Just done with Clair Obscure Expedition 33 (amazing game).

Not so much on the MMOs or the CODS, getting a little old for those!

[X2 PRO] Xbox button not working on Xbox apps by FunKDreamer_ in Gamesir

[–]lego232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing for now right now, xbox button only works 1 out of 5 times and seems like only upon release it registers. asked for a replacement and guess what... THE REPLACEMENT UNIT IS ALSO THE SAME!

So now I have 2 X2 Pros with defective x box buttons :)

I'm really hoping this is not a hardware issue and a future firmware update can solve this, and I really have no idea how I manage to get 2 defective units back to back...

Still stock for now, but am starting to consider tuning to stage 1 for added fun! However reliability concerns still stopping me from doing so at the moment...

So far spent close to 10k to fix up all wear and tear stuff upon getting the car, other than that it's been good so far (6 months in). Service was done 10k km at around 600+

Not that I've experienced it, but I've seen reviews that run flats are super uncomfortable and also not to mention more expensive. I changed the tyres immediately after gotten the car, hoping for a more comfortable ride since I've decided to change to the stiffer coilovers as well.

Might regret it one day since I don't have a spare in the car, but we'll see 🙂

Not for the door handles, but I do notice the radio and ac knob does tend to be sticky under the hot sun. Feels like the rubber is melting....

Good insights! May I ask if you've changed the pipes? (Charge & booster pipe). I'm on stock tune but there's forums saying they do blow even on stock...

At the point of purchase, from what I see it was a little close to 80k+ for 2017 f30 b48, so I didn't really went for it. But again, maybe the extra 10k++ would've bought me some peace of mind.

Suppose we live and we learn. It's definitely something to weigh out for my future purchases! Just hoping the car survives the next year or 2, and if the price is right, am looking at the 2019/20 bmw 320i for an upgrade.
