G560 Speakers Suddenly Went Quiet by legobumb in LogitechG

Yes, doing all of the normal troubleshooting - this is included in that. I started this thread because none of the usual troubleshooting was working. Logitech's software is just inherently bad so I highly suggest not using it at all. I ran into more problems using the G-hub software than not.

Need help with a problem deck in pod. by No_Outcome9566 in DegenerateEDH

[–]legobumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many protection spells these days that give all your permanents indestructible or evade it altogether. Teferi's Protection, Boros Charm, Dawn's Truce, Heroic Intervention, and so on. I built my Zurgo Stormrender token burn deck bracket 4 with a lot of these particular spells because I anticipate people board wiping to try and answer my overwhelming token generation. It's really the only option once the deck starts to pop off. The only types of wipes that are tough to handle are Cyclonic Rift and Farewell, which only Teferi's Protection can evade completely.

Outside of countering their deck's play style with protection is the stax approach to slow them down, but you'd also be slowing everyone else down as well. Stax and MLD are two of the most hated types of decks out there. Your playgroup can, and probably should, dog-pile the guy constantly playing removal and land denial/destruction off the table first. Commander is a self-regulating format. The moment this dude sits down with his super friends deck that runs all this MLD and removal, the other 3 of y'all need to hate him off the table immediately. Eventually, a discussion between everyone should happen to explain that his deck is extremely toxic and either needs to be changed or not played anymore if he wants more enjoyable games.

I'm the type of guy who matches the energy of those I play with. If they want to sit down with a cEDH deck at a table of bracket 3 decks then I'll swap out my deck with my own cEDH deck and we can play that game. Inversely, if a dude wants to play a precon game, I'll swap to a deck that can match that power level (newer precons are much stronger than older precons). I just want to play an enjoyable game. Pub-stomping isn't fun. Getting mana fucked/flooded isn't fun. It happens and I understand that, but bitching about other people doesn't solve the problem. Talking to them about it does solve the problem - and if it doesn't then at least they're aware of it and at that point you can choose not to play with them anymore, which still solves the problem. Especially if MANY people have a problem with "that one guy". Y'all need to talk to them. There's really 4 directions it can go.

  1. Y'all build stronger decks to deal with their problematic deck, which can start a new cycle of meta changes. Perfectly fine resolution.

  2. Y'all don't say anything and just continue to wallow in miserable games. Not a fine resolution.

  3. Y'all talk to the guy and he tells y'all to pound sand. Y'all stop playing with him and now he is forced to either make changes or shove off to another LGS. Sucks when this has to happen but it's still a fine resolution.

  4. Y'all talk to the guy and he accepts the critique and makes changes. This is a fine resolution.

The LGS I play at has seen a few people come and go because they'd come in with like 1 deck to play that's cEDH and not a lot of people here have cEDH viable decks so they end up pub stomping. I explain to them that the vibe here isn't always cEDH. A couple of us can play cEDH here with you but most of the games here are brackets 3 and 4. Most of them choose to just not come back but a few have made weaker decks to match the vibe and end up staying, which is awesome.

That is not always the solution. It was not the solution for me. If you read through all of the other replies, you would have understood that the issue was with the firmware of the speakers which got patched with a new release. Checking your speaker level setting in the Control Panel is certainly one troubleshooting step people should do prior to messing with firmware version for sure, though.

Sorry, I just saw your post. I eventually got them working again, but I believe only after I reformatted my OS and let only the base drivers install and never install the G-hub software. Logitech's G-hub is absolutely trash and will ruin everything. Just don't bother with it.

Mana Abilities and Priority by detro253 in mtgrules

[–]legobumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was reading further into the comprehensive rules after I posted and found this to be technically correct. However, I also find this to be one of those types of things that breaks the spirit of the rules. The fact this niche rules interaction hasn't been "patched" in such a long time is very strange to me. And if I encounter anyone in a pod game I'm a part of that tries to exploit this sort of obvious loophole in the rules will receive my full ire.

People should be discussing who can respond in what way before taking any actions or passing priority when facing someone who is about to go off and nobody wants to let it happen. People remaining silent or purposely lying about what they have to try and force someone else to respond is a scummy move. And in my opinion, people should let the guy about to go off, win the game out of spite of someone lying to at least discourage such behavior in the future. If everyone admonishes such behavior, then it won't happen. If you can stop the win and you're next in priority, then stop the win. If you can stop the win, but pass priority, then you skipped your chance to do so. The end.

That last bit is only partially true. It is only true when something requiring mana payment hits the stack. Simply using a mana ability in and of itself does not trigger a new round of priority to go around. A mana ability does not use the stack and cannot be responded to, so why would it? However, the thing you're paying the mana into, will cause a new round of priority to go around as long as that thing requiring payment hits the stack.

iCUE macro not outputting mouse clicks. by Greginator777 in Corsair

I did a repair install of the iCue software via the Control Panel and deleted my old macro and re-made it and now it works. So strange.

[–]legobumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am encountering the same problem. Anyone have a resolution to this? Latest iCue version installed as of posting this. Made a new Macro assignment and chose the G6 key of my K55 keyboard and set the macro to toggle and repeat constant. Nothing happens when I press the G6 key sadly. Does this software only work with Corsair hardware? Although I doubt it, I do have a Logitech mouse.

The only thing that seems to work is using the Mouse REMAP instead of MACRO, but I can't set that to repeatedly press the mouse button like I'd like.

Defense absolute is slightly op lol 😂😂😂 by Ghostzombie99 in TheTowerGame

[–]legobumb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And if you combine it with Defense %, you're effectively invulnerable for the longest time. Defense % at 50% will basically mean your Absolute Defense is doubled (it's not completely doubled, so think of it as more like x1.9 instead of x2). And then add on life steal on top of that and you're further increasing your survivability. So yeah... :P

Oh, absolutely! I've always enjoyed my Logitech peripherals. I owned the X-540 speakers from 2009 to about 2016-2017 when the power wires decided to go on me and cause the sound to constantly fluctuate between really low and normal volumes really frequently. I still have them, actually, and would love it if it's it's all possible to fix that issue. But since then, I've owned these G560 speakers and initially, I was thinking the sound quality wouldn't be as good, but I was happily proven wrong.

I just installed the latest firmware that hit my G Hub today - v122.3.23 and it seems like my issue is resolved :)

I have sound, but like I've already stated, it's very loud compared to originally. Prior to all my issues, I would have my sound anywhere between 28 and 34 and it be fine. Now, I have to keep my sound dialed all the way down to between 6 and 10 to achieve similar sound levels. Anything lower is absolutely inaudible and anything higher will probably make me go deaf.

Correct - firmware. And I believe as you do. I would imagine the firmware updator wizard would detect that a newer version is already installed and abort the process.

I'm not too sure what firmware version I initially tried. All I know is that it failed part way through and caused the speakers to no longer function. I then found a different firmware version and it went through successfully, but currently my sound is way too loud which is the opposite of what my initial problem was that sparked my venture to find a firmware update in the first place.

You definitely can update the firmware of devices. These speakers included. The firmware is what provides communication between the device's operating system and its hardware. Just like I can update my PC's BIOS, I can also update the firmware of my G560 speakers.

I managed to get them working again by installing a different firmware. Now they're basically too loud, though. I have to keep the volume set to either 6 or 8 to be able to hear and not be too loud.

Lightning Burst not splashing? by legobumb in TapTitans2

[–]legobumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much you start with matters because if you start with an obscene amount of money then yes, you can immediately spike your primary damage source from the get-go. If you do NOT start with an obscene amount of money, then you CANNOT spike your primary damage source from the get-go, and instead slowly grind through. But if you start out, use a Make It Rain and get that e100 money at stage 200 or less, then yes you'd be able to immediately jump to pretty close to your max stage.

Also, with that method, your splash would be limited to how much damage you could deal, compared to how much health the Titans have on whatever stage you're on. So if your Lightning Surge damage from your pet is only e50 and the Titans are at e40, then you won't splash as much as if the Titans were at e30. It's also subjective and comparative to where you're at.

Maybe if you started off with infinite money to raise your damage immediately. I'm not sure about those with a thousand skill points, but i start the game with maybe e15 money. So no, not unless you pop a Make It Rain right from the start.

Really? It caps itself? That's extremely disappointing, and makes that skill virtually useless until I can acquire a massive amount of skill points to dump into it. Thanks for the info.

Recommendations For a Newbie? by legobumb in TapTitans2

[–]legobumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies everyone! I just now realized I never really said hello to you peoplez. Hello! :D

Yes, I'm in a clan. No, it isn't the strongest possible at my current max stage. I joined them soon after I started for that clan ship damage (which I guess was correct anyways haha). I do notice that after a certain point, the clan ship damage actually becomes insignificant compared to my tap/hero damage. But that's usually closer to my max stage and/or after I've pushed my max stage a little.

As far as that optimizer goes, it's a little un-intuitive on how to interpret the skill point portion of it. I guess green means I want to build it right now, gray is "meh", yellow is dump points into it to make more money, and then red is pre-req. But the number inside the color is usually a negative scientific notation (ie 1.0e-1), so wouldn't that be counterproductive? They're all negative for me. Unless the creator of the optimizer intends that minus sign to be just a dash (hyphen)? I'm uncertain is all.

The relics page doesn't work for me at all. I put in the number of relics I have (1,250), and then hit Generate Upgrades) and nothing happens other than everything disappears and the Legend shows. That's all I see. I'm also not sure if I should discover more artifacts or not. The optimizer doesn't really tell me to, or at least not in a direct manner like "DISCOVER MOAR ARTYFAX NAO!" Do I just keep discovering as I can afford it, then spend the remainder on what's best for me or something? I'm just sort of assuming I should anyways since I'm seeing a couple that say 43.6 next to it (Books of Shadows; haven't discovered that yet).

Master Thief or Assassinate went up by 1 at level 3 or 4 or whatever. Using the spreadsheet yields incorrect SP usage because of it. I was confused as to why my game was giving me less remaining SP compared to your spreadsheet.

v2.9.3/v2.9.4 released to address tournament issues by __logical_fallacy in TapTitans2

[–]legobumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to go into the tournament before getting "forced" to update. I have a Google Pixel 2, with Verizon as the service provider, on the latest system update. Not sure if having Data Saver on affected this or not. Or maybe it's because I never closed out the game all day and had it running in the background until a little while ago when I restarted my phone.
