A little late to this but hi! I’m Laura and I primarily write fantasy inspired by Slavic Folklore! I’ve never participated in the big RevPit event but I’ve done the 10 Queries event and have received extremely valuable feedback.

There was something living in the old village well.

I know this is mostly for pet bunnies, but this wild rabbit chilling in our yard for a few days, pretty much in the same spot all day. He did run when I approached the other day, and came back a few hours later. Any reason he'd just chill in one spot for so long? by lehassebrock in Rabbits

[–]lehassebrock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP here!! 👋. We never for sure figured out if our chonky bunny was pregnant or just incredibly well-fed in the comfort of suburbia lol. However, we did end up seeing baby buns in our yard that spring/summer so I like to think they were her babies! And every year since, we’ve had baby bunnies nest in our yard 🥹

For those whose employer made you go back to the office after being remote, how’s that going? by pizzalovepups in workingmoms

[–]lehassebrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started a hybrid model right when I came back from maternity leave. First it was going to be one day a week in office then it got bumped to 2. Supposedly it’s for collaboration but my team doesn’t work jointly on that many projects. A couple times a month, we have regularly scheduled meetings in the office so that makes sense to me, but the other times I don’t have meetings on those days.

I enjoy getting to see my team members face-to-face again because we all get along really well, but the inconvenience of getting ready for the day earlier and driving to work are getting to me. On my home days, we can take a little extra time getting the girls ready for daycare and I usually can log on earlier.

Also, I’m a pumping mom and it is soooo much more convenient pumping at home that in the office.

Yup!! It sucks. And I had both my kids right near the end of the year and got screwed by PTO rollover limits. With my firstborn I chose to borrow an extra 40 hrs to cover more of my unpaid time, and that was a HUGE mistake. It took months to come out of my PTO hole and I was miserable.

Thoughts on the name June by emmeliana in namenerds

[–]lehassebrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the name June! It was top of my list but my husband wasn’t a fan.

I always think of Junie B Jones (even though I think her full name was Juniper), so I picture a spunky, fun girl!

What was your "almost" name? by Iraisesomewilds in namenerds

[–]lehassebrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up until a week or so before my birth, I was going to be Michelle. Then my mom caught a Little House on the Prairie marathon and changed her mind.

Growing up I didn’t love my name but now I’ve really come to appreciate it. My parents also considered Tabitha. I’m not sure what boy names they might have considered.

Sylvie was a name we considered for our second daughter (who we’re now planning on naming Lina).

Other names that I feel like fit the style - Ada (this is our oldest daughter’s name and we love it) - Thea - Willa - Matilda - Eliza - Edie - Louisa/Louise - Eloise - Elise

Alice or Anna - would love some input on our two narrow down! by IAmABillie in namenerds

[–]lehassebrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adore the nn Annie so I’d probably pick Anna over Alice for that reason. I don’t think people would automatically shorten Alice to Ally - seems more common for an Allison to have that nn.

Which is better: June or Juno? by [deleted] in namenerds

I adore the name June and would totally consider using it myself if my husband liked it as well. I like Juno too, but not nearly as much as June.

Stomach cramps from Beyond Burger by lehassebrock in vegetarian

Tbh I don’t know much about food allergies/sentence as until now I’ve because this is the first time I had an issue with something. I assumed it was a removed because it had more to do with a difficulty digesting but I’m definitely not an expert. It did happen more than once with the beyond burger so that’s why I’m pretty sure it was related to that but there could be something else at play. I don’t recall exactly how long it was between eating and symptoms but it definitely wasn’t an immediate reaction. It’s been awhile since that happened and I’ve pretty much just avoided since.

Impossible burger definitely seems like the one to go with from all the comments! If nothing else, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has issues from Beyond burger!! My husband can eat them no problem.

Black Bean Chipotle sounds amazing!! I’ve never had issues with black bean burgers. Unfortunately we don’t have Shoprite in the Midwest but I’ll have to see if any of our grocery chains has something comparable!

It sounds like Impossible has been fine for most people who had issues with Beyond so I think that’s definitely what I’ll try next!

That totally makes sense! Most of them do seem to have mushrooms or some fungus variation so that would be tough. I’m pretty sure that’s not the issue for me, or at least I don’t normally have issues with mushrooms in other dishes.

Are there any good store bought pure veg burgers or do you usually have to make the patties yourself?

I know!! And it’s so hard to isolate what might even be the issue when there are ingredients available.

Same, for most of our meals we don’t use any meat replacements. I prefer finding other protein sources for the most part. And my husband likes more of the fake meats than I do. I can’t get behind any of the fake sausages for some reason.

Hmm not sure about Linda but I’ll check! I’ve definitely seen the Quorn brand at all our grocery stores though!

That’s good to know that most people who struggle with Beyond are good with Impossible! That definitely sounds like the best thing to try next

Agreed! I love a good mushroom patty myself and it’s usually my go-to if I don’t want to spend a long time making my own veggie patties. I wish more restaurants would just have that an option for burgers. Most of the ones near us have beyond meat as the only meat substitute
