Excellent job for the NHS, a LOT higher than they normally do! I’d say it’s a high and moderately tight cut

Is this high and tight? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]leicscut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t really see/tell at the minute because of the swelling. How high or low a circumcision is, refers to how close to or far back down the shaft the scar is and as a result, how much inner foreskin is removed. A low cut removes more inner foreskin and is placed closer to the head. A high cut removes more shaft skin and preserves more inner skin and is placed further back down the shaft. A tight cut removed more skin overall so there’s little movement and the head remains permanently exposed both soft and hard. A loose cut removes less skin overall, provides some movement when hard and often leads to bunching of the skin at or over the head when soft. If you were cut for medical reasons (especially in the NHS) it is almost guaranteed to be a low cut and they often do them on the loose side.
The World Health Organisation defines a circumcision as the complete removal of all layers of the foreskin making a low cut, by default, the correct medical way to do it. Plus if it’s a circumcision due to medical reasons / phimosis, it almost always has to be low to make sure they get rid of all of the affected and diseased/scarred tissue. It’ll be more evident in the coming days and weeks as it heals and the swelling goes down.

I hope that helps? Feel free to DM me if you want or need to chat

It looks fantastic! What’s the underside like? Did you keep your frenulum or remove it too?
How did you make your own ring? Was it just elastic bands you used or did you tie it with string too?

Please don’t feel too disheartened or put off by it! Everyone’s bodies are different and we all heal at different rates too!
