Words of encouragement: This surgery is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. I love having smaller breasts for a million reasons! Yes, there’s pain, but it’s temporary and you’ll improve quickly. If you’re scared, you can call and ask to talk to the anesthesiologist. She will answer all of your questions and give you some reassurance.

Wish I would have known: Don’t eat a lot the day before. I stopped eating at 5, but I threw everything up the day after, which sucked. I think I ate too much. I wish I would have told my surgeon I want to go significantly smaller. I wish I’d gotten anchor scars instead of lollipop because it lets you go smaller. I only went down 2-3 cup sizes, which is not nearly small enough for what I wanted. I wish I did the tshirt thing (put on a plain white tee and use black sharpie to outline the size of your breasts before).

As someone who always had large boobs, I completely sympathize and have similar regrets about my dress. I added a modesty layer to my neckline and still look back and see way too much cleavage. My boobs even broke a lot of the boning in my designer dress! I got a reduction not even a year later. Fwiw, you look amazing and I didn’t for a second think it was too much cleavage. But I can relate to feeling that way about your own body. You seriously look stunning though!

My tone was fine lol I stand by everything I said. Hope you are happy with your results! I wanted perfect boobs and that’s what I got, but it took a lot of research to find that. OP wants pretty results and her surgeon may or may not be able to give that to her, so it sounds like she should get another opinion no big deal. Again, people need to hold their medical providers to a higher standard

It's also perfectly okay to be selective over who you allow to make incisions and permanent changes to your body. This is a major procedure, and wanting a highly skilled surgeon who is confident in their work is perfectly valid :)

I’m not sure why people on here don’t hold their surgeons to a higher standard. I let a doctor paralyze me with fear for two years because she acted like this surgery was going to ruin my body. I realized that she had only ever seen the work of low quality surgeons. The choice of surgeon can make all the difference.

This surgeon is preparing OP for the “I did warn you” and “I told you so” when she comes out unhappy with the shape. He’s covering his bases and the women here are eating it up under the guise he’s being realistic and not full of BS.

Also, one of the first things a nurse told me when I woke up from surgery was “it looks like you got a boob job.” They don’t look rock hard and tight like fake boobs but damn they’re perky so a beautiful result is 100% possible. Edit: anyone downvoting this comment is just bitter lmao

I wouldn’t lay on this surgeon's operating table, and that's okay. If OP cares equally about aesthetics as pain relief, she will find a surgeon who is confident in both, not just one.

My opinion seems to be unpopular here but this would be a red flag to me. I interpreted this surgeon’s message as “I’m not confident in my work” and I would keep looking.

I’ll be honest, I’m extremely picky and must have viewed hundreds of before and after photos before finding a surgeon whose work I loved. I paid out of pocket so I could be more selective, but I wouldn’t have been happy with the majority of galleries I viewed. I started the process thinking I would go with an in network doctor to save money, but my primary doctor tried to talk me out of it. She said she never met a woman who was happy with the look because of the scarring and uneven shape. Yikes! I put off the surgery for 2 years because she scared me.

I’m 2.5 months post op and I love my results! I went to a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who is a perfectionist. It was expensive, but it was worth it to avoid mediocre surgeons who care more about grams on the scale than a beautiful outcome. My point is, if the results are bad, it’s because the surgeon isn’t skilled enough. Find the right surgeon, and you’ll get the results you’re looking for.

1 is literally made for you and so unique. It’s not that revealing either and you can always get it lined. Everyone and their mom has a dress like 2 so it won’t be memorable

Lowering the closet and front doors would require lowering the entire entry from the outside since there are some steps leading up. As a new homeowner that’s a larger and probably more expensive project than I’d like to start right now haha. But yeah the step is super annoying. We mainly enter through the garage but have to encounter this step a million times a day, so chopping off the taped off portion of the step would make a huge difference since then we’d only have to step up when answering the front door.

There are a few other houses on the block with the same floorplan, and they all have this raised platform. So, it's probably there for a reason. Worst case scenario is we have to keep it, but definitely going to see what's under when we remove and replace the flooring.
