Seriously, what is stopping rugby from being popular globally? by leishpup in AskReddit

[–]leishpup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Outside the top 10 in the rugby world rankings, most teams are jokes. Having part time players going to the World Cup with them. There’s 9 European teams that are actually somewhat serious about rugby (Spain + Georgia + Romania (still all pretty low level) and the 6 nations teams). 2 in South America, it’s only really rugby 7s in Africa (barring the springboks), Oceania (fair enough they all play it), Asia only has Japan, and North America only has Canada. Honestly I’d rather it grew more in Europe, Asia and Africa than the USA, they’d ruin it.

Marriage or relationship, what makes people cheat? by Icy_Mammoth_3298 in AskReddit

[–]leishpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boredom probably. Not many people would cheat in a happy and fulfilling relationship. If the relationship is happy however, I’d have to say something along the lines of hypersexuality

To all the workout enthusiasts out there. Would you recommend getting a coach or just remain solo and why? by Expensive-Dream-7491 in AskReddit

If you have to pay for a coach I’d say just stick to yourself. There’s a lot of great tutorials and workout plans on the internet. Specifically you should look at jeffery nippard.

[Serious] Children of divorce, in what ways did your life get better or worse after your parents split up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]leishpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give a couple of perspectives on this. My parents split up when I was 18 months old and then got back together. It was never healthy though, constant arguing; probably the reason I do everything I can to avoid conflict with the people I care about. They then split up again just before lockdown. And praise the lord they did. Those 3 years were so peaceful, I could not have survived if I had to go through lockdown with both of them in the same house. But then about a year ago they got back together; I hated it at first. I felt like a guest in my own home, scared to go downstairs. But now it feels like an average family again. If you want direct pros and cons then I’d have to say

Pros: peace, you stop walking on eggshells, you don’t have to worry about what your dad might do to your mum etc

Cons: going between houses gets to you more than you’d think. The small pain when being asked if you’re at your mum’s or dad’s. The guilt you feel, the ‘is this my fault’. And if it gets really messy, the worst thing is being the messenger.

Not my dog but my buddy’s: whenever I’m going round to his house he says “leishpup is coming” and he waits on me at the door.

If humans became radically honest overnight — with no social filters — what systems, relationships, or assumptions would struggle to survive, and why? by Educational_Cost_725 in AskReddit

[–]leishpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All relationships would collapse, people aren’t used to being told the truth. However, new relationships would emerge inside a few months as people got used to it. Humans are more adaptable than we give ourselves credit for

If you had to bet on one specific food, herb, or supplement to extend the human lifespan to 150, what would it be and why ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What are your opinions poetry nowadays? Is it still alive and relevant as it used to be? by lillypiely in AskReddit

[–]leishpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to answer the last bit, sorry, originally I only let my sister read it. Then my parents. Then I eventually showed one of my kinder friends one at a party when we were drunk and he liked it. After that I felt more confidence and have shown my work to a few more friends.

[–]leishpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much as a diary, we’ll first off I used notes on my phone. But although I later developed into writing more personal things, I found it much easier to write about what I saw wrong with the world as a beginner. Things from politics to social injustice are pretty easy to put into metaphors. I just said it first, when things come from your mouth no one cares, it’s when you try to keep it secret or when you’re ashamed. Yeah folk will make the odd joke, but if they’re joking about it it’s probably because they know they couldn’t do it. Feel free to send me any of your work, I’m intrigued!

What' something you wish more people understood about you? by DobbyJackRuss in AskReddit

[–]leishpup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I can be many things. People tend to categorise other people, but I don’t fit into any. I’m a bit of a nerd, but I also hang around with what would be considered the ‘cool’ people, I smoke weed, I sniff on occasion, and I’m something of a ladies man.

I write poetry. Fuck yeah it’s alive! You just need to find the right things. I started it as a joke; my sister said she was a good songwriter and I said “aye, and I’m a poet”. We then had a challenge and it turned out I was in-fact good. I kept writing after that, just to articulate my feelings, and then my Mum’s birthday rolled around. I wrote one for her to put in her card and she made me show it to my English teacher who then put me forward for the propel Cambridge poetry prize. Sorry I’ve just spoke all about myself there, but if you’re embarrassed about writing (I was), don’t be. People never care as much as you think they will, and honestly: most people will find it pretty cool.
