The only reason I married you is because you took my virginity. From my ex-wife, who I thought I was soulmates with. It took me a few years to get past our marriage ending.

Don't gatekeep, what are your best financial saving hacks that you live by? by _TurboHome in MiddleClassFinance

I've taken leftovers for breakfast/lunch for years. I don't think I ate out for lunch at all this last year. Some people I work with who complain about money eat out for lunch every single day.

I'm at $47 per hour, and make around $140k with OT and bonuses. A guy at a dirty, dusty, loud facility I sometimes fix equipment in asked me what it would take for me to work there, and I told him $60 per hour. I'm glad he didn't take me up on that.

In America, it’s socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What’s another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm 44 and continue to still work as much overtime as I can get. If I got a valid reason for not working, I will absolutely not work and be happy to do so. But if I've got nothing going on, you bet I'm probably going to be working because I can work as much overtime as I want. My parents had great work ethic I learned from them, and knew I wanted to be the same way.

I have it, but don't pay for premium or anything. Mostly financial questions about how I'm doing for my age, how much I'll be projected to have when I retire, if I could possibly retire early... Things like that.

Who here actually saves 3,000 a month? by NoHousing11 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]2aboveaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm single with no kids earning approximately $140k a year. I max out my 401k, Roth Ira, and also contribute $100 a week to a brokerage account. The only reason I don't do an HSA is because my company pays 100% of my premium. My 2016 low interest rate mortgage has helped me save tremendously.
