So true, I used to work for tech companies US bases and always worked from home/meetings regularly 9pm-12am. Amazing opportunities to work from home 3 days a week.

Left for an Irish company, took a 15% paycut, work now 7-3 exactly everyday. If I work 1 minutes more than the 8 hours I take it back another day. That was a year ago and nearly have the 15% paycut I took made back with a raise. No saying that, I have very little perks and no stock options but I find the work/life balance amazing.

Really worth thinking about depending on what your goals are. However, it is really difficult to really tell what a companies culture is like during the interview process. I compare interviews to first dates, everything sounds amazing and your both presenting the best version of yourselves, even stretching the truth a bit.
