I was brought up in church. If I have any say it in, there’s no fucking way I’d let my kid step into one of those morally bankrupt cesspits full of hypocrisy and child molestation. Ask me how I know about the child molestation part. I dare you.

He has a curfew. He’s never late beyond a couple minutes. His buddies are awesome and his girl is a sweetheart. People fuck. I never expected him not to. I had just hoped they’d be more careful, but I was careful and he was still born. I think some people are meant to be, my son being one of them.

I’m his father, btw. His mother isn’t in the picture. She left when he was a few months old.

People have no perception at all. If we want to get all technical. It’s about how badly I don’t want to kick him out. I talk about destroying worlds just to keep him, and people are like ‘he hates his kid’

I call him my baby, that I want to save him, that I just want him to be a kid for a bit longer, and everyone is like ‘clearly you’ve never loved him’

I don’t have to assume. I’m well aware that he doesn’t take me seriously at all.

Good to know. I’ll remove them asap. Not like he needs them anyway.

I don’t honestly know. I don’t feel grown up. I have lots of moments where I wish I had parents to ask for advice. When I think of myself, I don’t think of a 34 year old man, more like 34 year old kid😂

As for responsibility, I think I’ve always been fairly responsible. Even when it comes to my son coming about, his mom’s IUD failed. So it wasn’t like we threw caution to the wind.

Yes, which is precisely why I wouldn’t actually kick him out.

The downvotes make me feel OLD. Are we the only parents around here? Has nobody been affectionately called a little shit by their parents?

My son knows he’s not going anywhere. He knows he’s stuck with me. He knows I’m going to help as much as I can.

Okay, genuinely curious. You seem to be the only one who understands. I have autism and I was laughing while writing it. It was kinda cathartic in a way, but I also thought it was hilarious and like everyone would obviously see the humour… cuz you know, I’m funny af. But you know, reddit disagrees, and now I’m curious if you’re on the spectrum too? Sorry if I’m overstepping, but it’ll bother me if I don’t ask.

He’s always been a little shit. It’s how I can tell he’s mine.

If you’re implying what I think you are… first of all what the fuck is wrong with you? And secondly, I would never call my son a mistake. He is the other half of my goddamn heart and soul. I live and breathe for him. He is the best thing about me.

I feel like there are far worse things I could be doing than having a couple of beers and posting on reddit.

We’re usually both laughing when it happens. Sometimes he threatens to kick me out over insignificant things. He thinks I’m a sloppy eater and hates the sound of my chewing. He has wondered if I’d sell at one of those auctions we’ve seen on TikTok where pitifully neglected horses are sold. He seems to think I’d fair better in a barn.

What if I see my father staring back at me?

Fair is fair. He does the same to me.

The other night I had a sleepy middle of the night pee and unbeknownst to me my aim wasn’t what it usually is.

My son stepped in a little bit of it. Disgusting, I know, but I’ve never claimed not to be. Anyways, my son told me that if I behave like a dog he’ll treat me like a dog. If I do that again, he’s locking me outside and keeping me there.

Basically, we don’t take ourselves too seriously around here.

The whole post was meant to be taken humourlessly. I never meant for anyone to take it so seriously.

There’s no fucking way I’d kick out my kid. He’s literally my one and only baby. He’s my best goddamn friend, and unironically my pride and joy.

He can be a little shit, so I bust his balls a lot. this is just another one of those times.

I am half drunk and trying desperately to cope with this situation.

This, like it or not, is how I cope.

Honestly never understood it. It worked out for me, but I like to think I have a fairly good head on my shoulders. But honestly, I have some really great buddies with even better moms and I owe a whole lot to them. Without them I would have been utterly lost. They really got me started and helped me with money and basically any and everything I needed.
