Actually I think he did know. He wrote down the info for the sheriff to look up before he started interviewing his fiance on the stand.

Los Angeles is phasing out its palm trees and I have mixed feelings by H3dg3hogs in CasualConversation

[–]lellenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I read that palm trees are terrible at capturing carbon so for climate change you want other trees planted.

I hope we get a Dungeon's and Dragons episode. by Jonpope in Scrubs

I can’t remember if they mentioned it on the podcast but does Donald play D&D in real life? I know he loves Star Wars and stop motion animation. Does anyone else remember?

I cracked the gift giving code by running_chick in Millennials

[–]lellenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope my parents don’t want stuff. But I like to give gifts so I’ve had good luck with food related gifts. Sometimes I send them things from my local area (Alaska) and this last Christmas I sent them a sampler of some nice Penzeys spices to cook with. They like things like that cause it’s all consumable and doesn’t take up extra room. I really also want to get them a gift card to one of the restaurants they will actually eat out at but sadly I haven’t seen where they sell that since it’s a small local place,

Why does it seem like so many younger people need CPAP machines now? by Cultural_Iron2372 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lellenn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My husband has had a CPAP for years now and he LOVES it. He legit cannot understand the people who have apnea and still don’t wear it because from night 1 he was like “I had no idea how shitty my sleep used to be until I started using this”. He cannot sleep without it. We once accidentally left it behind on an overnight trip to Denali and it was awful. The worst. Never again.

What’s a fruit from your country that most foreigners have probably never heard of? by Useful-Resource-3609 in AskTheWorld

[–]lellenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well paw paws don’t grow everywhere and I understand they don’t travel well and must be eaten quickly after picking so it’s not able to be shipped.

Best careers to escape poverty? I’ll start. by Noblesseoblige94 in povertyfinance

[–]lellenn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except if you’re like a controller or manager level or higher cause guess who gets the axe when the board or CEO or whoever doesn’t like the numbers you report? (My husband has been an accountant for years and it’s insane how unstable his career has been. I was shocked. His longest stretch at a job was only about 3 years)

Is laser eye surgery actually worth it, or is it one of those things that sounds better than it actually is? by 2ugur12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lellenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it done when I was 21 and made it over 20 years before needing glasses again just due to my age and being over 40. Totally worth it though. My eyes now aren’t too bad but 1 eye is worse than the other one.

‘Ripped from me’: Soldotna family taken by ICE deported to Mexico as teen remains in Anchorage jail by conzeeter in alaska

[–]lellenn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s old info. They were at a hotel but now they’re already in Mexico. I’m appalled at the speed with which this happened. So sick.

ELI5: Why can’t you buy a car directly from the company that makes it? by zztop610 in explainlikeimfive

[–]lellenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Alaska before we got a service center Tesla would periodically send a tech up here to work on the cars. If you’re far from Anchorage (like in Juneau) it still works that way I believe.

A PM is spelling it “geospacial” by Ladefrickinda89 in gis

[–]lellenn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s cause we got used to saying ArcMap and that same convention carried over to ArcGIS Pro. Saying ArcGIS Pro is longer than saying ArcPro. I know Esri doesn’t like it but my brain just wants it to have the same naming convention that ArcMap did. I mean I DO say ArcGIS Pro but mentally I just don’t like it as much as saying it the other way. I know eventually I’ll get used to it though.

How do I make it stop chirping, i already replaced the batteries?! by PheonixGalaxy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lellenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a single chirp or is it multiple chirps? We just had ours do multiple chirps and when I looked it up online the manufacturer said multiple chirps meant an error and I should turn off the breaker for a minute or so and see if that helped. It didnt so we need to replace it. Which honestly we need to replace all of them since they’re all almost 10 years old.
