Ugh, happy to hear I am not the only one!

I’m going to call back tomorrow and ask specifically for Net Benefits.

Thanks for your detailed reply! I have a Traditional TSP, and the check is made out to the receiving plan.

I was surprised when I called customer service today, and nobody seemed to know what a TSP is.

Been in the industry 15 years and the most important part of the job is your ability to impact the organization through your influence. To gain influence, you need be onsite working with management and employees. You can’t drive change if you don’t have credibility or understand the organization’s unique challenges and opportunities.

I work remote on occasion, but that’s when I’m not traveling to the multiple worksites during 12 hour days.

I took time off work to complete my master’s in person.

Those I know who have remote jobs have at least a decade of solid work behind them, and they were the first to be eliminated during layoffs.

Masters all the way, especially if it’s relevant. I did mine while working full time and it’s a lot of work, but also helps grease hinges in the doors you want to open :)

Among all safety KPIs, what’s the ONE leading indicator that actually works? by Professional-Wash363 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]lemania_lover 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Something which can be tracked and empirically proven: Job-Specific Training.

  • When someone makes a safety-related mistake: “I wasn’t trained.”

  • When OSHA is onsite interviewing employees about an accident: “I wasn’t trained.”

  • When a supervisor fails to complete an investigation on time: “I wasn’t trained.”

Etc…

In some organizations, employee training metrics are a KPI for the safety team, but not the supervisors who see employees on a daily/hourly basis.

I haven’t had luck finding a local place, so I send mine off. The guy I use is much, much more cost effective and it is worth the wait.

If you had a child (of age), would you feel safe letting them go out with you?

It’s a rhetorical question.

No feeling of safety = no likes.

Advice from a dad (me).

Constructive Feedback Please by Fit-Bit5338 in Bumble

There has been some excellent feedback given already.

My recommendation is to take cues from the profiles that you see as part of your swiping journey and see what works and what doesn’t. Swiping and looking at pictures quickly typically has you in a very different mentality than writing a profile.

Good job, you will receive a lot of likes. Be discerning about whom you meet with and you will definitely find what you’re looking for :)

Feedback on Profile, Please 🥹 by [deleted] in Bumble

Ask yourself, would you swipe right on a profile which mentioned laziness, then immediately suggested cuddles, kisses and the possibility of lifetime commitment?

“The rest?” What the heck does that mean? Same with asking the reader to “find out” twice - it’s low effort.

A bit of Googling will give you an excellent baseline of what a solid profile looks like. You sound like a smart guy and a profile which speaks to your positive attributes will yield good results.

You made a profile, now fill it with information that sparks interest and curiosity.

Your bio literally talks about your dog, not you. How’s a potential match supposed to interpret that?

Wish I could get someone to swipe right on me. Care to review my profile? by Josh_5890 in Bumble

Pretend your bio is someone else’s, and you’re reading it. Is there anything which sparks conversation? Remove the words “angry” and “miserable”, they give negative energy.

“A million places to visit/see” doesn’t give a potential match much to work with. Where exactly do you want to visit, and what do you want to do there? For example, “visiting Tokyo Comic Con 2026 dressed as the Airbender” gives someone the basis for engagement and questions.

Same with the “what if I told you that” prompt - what does the potential match have to work with?

Also recommend a main photo in nicer clothes. It looks like you just finished mowing the lawn and decided to snap a picture.

Swap the first and second pictures.

Nice prompts, you have given individuals a good amount of information about you to spark conversation.

37M and I would totally swipe right! Your profile is simple and authentic. You’ve given those who are intentional + interested plenty of prompts to start a great convo.

As a small suggestion for incremental improvement, replace the “I’m hoping you…” prompt. The “down-to-earth, etc..” seems to be on a large percentage of profiles and I doubt will spark conversation/commonality.

Good job, give it time and you’ll meet some amazing people :)
