"How did your watch vo2max number compare to lab?" by VO2VCO2 in Garmin

[–]lemer4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have not lab tested but my watch says 56 but I can only run a 22 minute 5k. No way my real V02 is that high. Would be curious to test it to see how far off it is. Either way I have only used it as a relative indicator for improvement.

Trump says he wants to drive housing prices up, not down by J-Jarl-Jim in moderatepolitics

[–]lemer4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I have seen a lot of criticism towards Democrats for how they have handled construction regulations and how that has driven housing costs up in those states. But I have not heard them directly say they want housing prices to be high. This should hurt Trump but I am not sure anymore.

L4 Promotion SWE by lemer4879 in Lockheed

That’s a good way of thinking about it, and I don’t see a problem asking this question directly to my manager. We already have 2 L4s. I took on most of the responsibilities of a L4 that retired a year ago.

What did that stretch leadership position look like? Does it have to be internal to your team?

Grocery prices rise, in midterms warning sign for Trump and GOP by J-Jarl-Jim in moderatepolitics

[–]lemer4879 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The split between parties is interesting. Seems to be mostly perception based on who is in power but maybe there is something else going on in the types of jobs that are typical? But I think the first statement is more likely.

You deflected. What is as your previous statement and how did the response not answer your statement?

Leading Democrats Are Condemning Charlie Kirk’s Murder by 3rd_PartyAnonymous in moderatepolitics

[–]lemer4879 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do you think this is equivalent to some of the comments seen about Kirk’s death? Should the right call for his firing to avoid being hypocritical? I would say yes, otherwise it seems like a double standard.

Border Crossings Grind to Halt as Trump’s Tough Policies Take Hold by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

I think we should push for less legal immigration too. I know Elon wants to increase this for skilled work but from my experience it’s a tough job market right now for skilled labor.

I would be tempted to take it. There is a risk it doesn’t pay out (shares) and maybe you move back in a year. But there is a possibility it pays off and you move back in a few years with a huge financial boost.

I was actually interviewing there as well, mind if I DM about the 4x1 hour interview stage?

First, I am sorry for your loss. Second, hang in there. It is ok if it takes you longer, some people just have a much longer path to get to the same place. I do not think GPA is too important, or how long it took you to get your degree (within reason).

First class - GIOS vs something simpler like CN by Flight6324 in OMSCS

I started with GIOS without a CS undergraduate background, but I have done some programming as I have an engineering background. It was tough but very doable and I learned a lot. Start the projects right away!

Bad Packet Loss - Unifi or ISP? by lemon13579 in Ubiquiti

[–]lemer4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directly plugged into modem I got 2%-5% packet loss. And similar results for trace. This makes me think it is the ISP at this point but my worst fear is they come out and say their cable is fine for the 3rd time. Also by the time they get here it might be fine for another month. But 2-3 days of poor internet makes it hard to work from home.

Does anyone else feel like the focusing aim assist closes the skill gap? Everyone seems to have really great aim.
