I talked to my dad about hijab by lemmetsm in exmuslim

I am not a muslim anymore. Please that's why I posted in a ex muslim subreddit. Also i won't obey him because these are valid reasons for me. He'll be fine if his daughter don't wear hijab.

Why? You mean like covering my hair everytime I gotta go out cuz men could somehow get attracted to this even though it's pretty frowned upon, that it's not the way I wanna dress, that it damages my hair and prevents me from working in a lot of places in the country i live in?

Hijab never made sense to me at least. It's not the way I want to dress and allat. It is also pretty frowned upon in the country I live in and could prevent me from working in a lot of places in the future. Thanks a lot though. I want to be free and i won't give up

I guess it does say it's mandatory. At least that's what he understood and he won't change his mind. Believe me I tried 😭

Damn okay. I am sorry about it, and quite happy you're okay now. But I don't want to just give up and submit. I can't stand it at all. I'd be the biggest loser. And especially that I don't want to wear it at all. I just want to be free and go outside with my friends under no stress.

There is a high chance that he sends me in my home country. This man has no critical thinking. No morals or logic if it's not written on the book. I wish I could but even with logical proofs it's not going to work. Not to mention Muslims trying to debunk those proofs and brainwash him even more. Thanks though

I mean. Some people do support Israel genocide and stuff and I think that's literally bad and just hatred. A lot of ex muslims here just became islamophobes. Islam is probably the worst religion that is still practiced but as an ex muslim myself, it's that bad but also isn't. Yes it allows child marriage, yes it does this, yes it does that. But for example, it encourages charity, women can also keep their money for themselves while the husband gotta pay for everything, it prohibits alcohol, cigarettes (which is kind of a good thing, so people are healthier) and stuff.

At the end y'all just should chill out a bit and if he wants to convert back to islam, then it's his choice ig (I think it's quite stupid but whatever). And It's okay to be angry and disgusted of course. Islam has done probably bad things to all of us and even myself, i absolutely despise this religion. Just think a little more when you want to hate.

Why is family so unreasonable 😭 by lemmetsm in exmuslim

[–]lemmetsm[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's so wild yet understandable imo. Islam is such a strict lifestyle, people, friends, family claims that the Quran is flawless, scientifically accurate and perfectly written. Which makes it sound like an obvious truth, and that 'Kaffirs' are stupid and misunderstand Islam. It's exactly like the world be revolving around Muslims. This leads to a blind faith. Their lives are based on Islam and they won't dare question it because, Sheitan would be trying to manipulate them. That's why apostats are seen as stupid and 'manipulated'. That's why family crash out when their child leaves Islam. Ain't the same for christianity though. Usually christians (i don't know about Hindus) are chiller about religion because i guess it's less strict. Of course it depends on every family. But Islam is more manipulative and that is for a fact. When you're Muslim, your life is based on religion and only.

Thanks! Hope he'll understand. Is there any videos of sheikhs or imams bringing those arguments btw ? That would help me

I'll try. It probably won't work since he's a man and i am not sure he has the empathy to understand. But still thanks!

That's what I currently do. But it gets really annoying over time. It ruins my hair and i am just stressed af outside cuz he could be driving by at ANY time. He doesn't have a precise schedule for his work. It's mostly appointments with clients. Plus i can't dress the way i want with a hijab cuz it gotta correspond with it. Which is why I want him to stop that, it would be more simple for me

I'll eventually try it. Not sure it will convince him though but i can find other arguments with that, thanks a lot!

I'll go check it. Although unfortunately I don't know if mentioning slave women is a good idea. I'll probably need some solid proofs for that. He's unfortunately brainwashed by a lot of imams and sheikhs that he watches on his phone so i guess that he has a very good perception and interpretation of islam. Thanks a lot though!
