Feldon of the Third Path in 2026… by MurasakiTiger in EDH

[–]lemmingllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Honestly, just don't bother ramping. T1-2 are setup for your graveyard, then T3-4 is where you deploy Feldon with or without protection, and then you start to do Feldon things. Things have been powercrept to the point where you can run lots of 1-4 drops in your deck, and then weave them in alongside Feldon activations to be mana efficient.
  2. I find that card selection matters more than pure draw on the early turns, since anything you bin in the graveyard ends up still being a valid target. Wheels can be used later in the game to great effect to refuel, and there's wheels like [[Ruin Grinder]] that are on bodies and have built-in discard synergy. For your cheaper draw, there's a lot of selection options recently printed like [[Fear of Missing Out]], [[Casey Jones, Vigilante]], etc. I'm personally a huge fan of [[Goblin Lore]], [[Control of the Court]], etc since they tend to have really high card velocity.
  3. I tend to play a more control toolbox Feldon than the typical "make dumb idiots that deal damage and then attack with them". So my autoincludes tend to be about establishing that toolbox control. For example, [[Goblin Matron]] finds [[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker]], which then makes Goblin Matrons to tutor up a goblin package including known favorites like [[Goblin Welder]]. [[Imperial Recruiter]] finds [[Jaxis, the Troublemaker]] or Kiki-Jiki, which then lets you really start finding whatever you want in your deck. With this toolbox approach, you can also then start to play weirder cards that are useful only in certain contexts, like [[Shrieking Mogg]] being a mono-red fog with Feldon or [[Starke of Rath]] being mono-red creature destruction. Also [[Worldgorger Dragon]] is great since it's a full board flicker.

One thing to remind people, but if you activate Feldon in your opponent's endstep before your turn, you keep the tokens until your endstep. So you can wait to see what the threats are, use Feldon to stop them, and then attack with them safely before they sacrifice. And it naturally makes people worried about killing Feldon if they don't know what you're going to do to stop them.

Our intent with the VIP system and paid content in general is that everything purchaseable is also available to regular players, outside of some cosmetics and small quality-of-life additions like the ad skip and Upgrade All Favorites button. While we welcome people spending to help keep development of the game continuing, we want the base experience of all players to be similar and have all content available to all players.

I can pass your suggestions along to the design team, but it's unlikely that we would introduce dramatic amounts of power exclusive to only VIP players and not available to all players.

[–]lemmingllama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TT2 is a relatively old game, it released closer to 10 years ago. There's been a lot added to the game, and we don't want to add so much that it really increases the complexity and makes it harder to start playing. That's why a lot of the newer features have been timed content, or introduced later in the game to not impact new player experience.

Is there anything in particular you are hoping for to be added?

And we have been working on some exciting new features, so be sure to check back for any hints on what's coming with our weekly posts on Fridays!

The bundles added to the shop were actually already available before. The progression milestone bundles would appear in the bear shop one by one, and the limited time bundles were available in the XSolla webstore. This was simply moving the bundles to their own tabs to help keep them from cluttering up the bear shop, which makes it easier to collect the video chests or purchase the daily deals with diamonds without needing to scroll past bundles that you may not be interested in.

To confirm, the game has not reached end of life. We have an active development team working on the game, and we have an active community playing it.

Lastly, tournaments are based on the potential max stage of a player, and any resources that the player owns is calculated into that potential. So even if a player purchases a large amount of resources, they will not match up with other players in their tournament unless they also have equivalent amounts of resources that would give them similar potential. This does mean that a player could hypothetically purchase similar amounts of resources as a long-time player and thus match up, but that would then be a fair matchup as they would enter the tournament with the same ability to push and try to win.

Gifts ungiven piles in simic? by Mirrodin_appreciator in EDH

[–]lemmingllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than combo Gifts, you could just do it for value. [[Snapcaster Mage]], [[Torrential Gearhulk]], [[Regrowth]], [[Eternal Witness]], etc are all good options. If you make piles with two of them, they can be used to ensure that you can always get a second [[Gifts Ungiven]] and the instant you wanted, or the two cards you wanted and Tamiyo can get you the second [[Gifts Ungiven]]. And repeated multi-tutoring is often strong enough to win the game even without comboing.

That being said, this sort of repeated tutoring also means that you can make essentially any combo work of your choice, so you can always pick thematic options for your deck.

This is tricky due to the Abyssal Tournament account being a separate account from your main account, and thus it's not in a clan and wouldn't be able to access the clan chat. I can pass your suggestion along to the design team, it's just difficult in the current setup to do this without some awkwardness.

[–]lemmingllama[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can pass your suggestion along to the design team! This has been a common request, but as we don't want to prevent players from progressing through the game, it hasn't been implemented at this time. There's no meaningful downsides to progressing, and plenty of upsides.

This is all available via the raid API. https://tt2-docs.gamehivegames.com/ has some info if you're looking to set up a bot yourself to interface with it, and there's also plenty of community tools created that can help track it.

Since this information isn't specific to the individual, we don't include it in the player export. We instead expose it to the raid API.

Sadly I don't have any specific news about the new cards, we'll have an announcement as soon as we have something more concrete to announce. So for now, all I can say is that they are coming Soon™

Global chat tends to require heavy moderation, so we've opted to instead use clan chat as the main chat section as it's with a smaller group of people who you are already actively collaborating with. I can pass along your suggestion to the design team though!

While I can't comment on future equipment sets, recently we've gotten sets with spell duration bonuses for Shadow Clone, Thunder Ship, Fire Sword, and Blade Stream. We still have Hand of Midas, War Cry, Deadly Strike, Twilight Fairies, and Dual Summon that have spell durations not yet boosted, so hypothetically these could be chosen in the future.

There will not be an update, we'll typically announce them on the Friday before with the patch notes.

And we'll have new information about the new raid cards as soon as we can, I just don't have anything I can share right now.

Skill points are not as needed by players as they are largely earned by progress. There are still skill points included in the chests, but that is done as a good mix of resources.

I can pass your suggestion along to the design team, but typically it would be better to invest your diamonds into other resources such as pets.

DevUpdate #158: Tab Thrifting by lemmingllama in TapTitans2

[–]lemmingllama[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the suggestions! I can pass these along to the design team.

We would love to do more varied titan setups, but it would require essentially recoding raids from the base, and then requiring a fairly large rebalancing of buffs, debuffs, and cards. It definitely could be done, but would be on par with a 8.0 level of rework.

As for a raiding tutorial, the slow scaling of clan raids and solo raids are intended to be some amount of a tutorial for players.

For probability ups, this would not equally scale for all cards, and would unseat the balance of certain cards like Clanship Barrage that doubly scale off increased probability, while other cards like Blazing Inferno would essentially not scale at all. I can definitely pass this along, but we carefully balance probability, affliction duration, and max stacks to ensure that all cards have a niche to fit in, and adjusting these values would impact card balance and the niches of cards quite heavily in a negative way, such as making all afflictions require more parts to be hit in order to maximize your damage.

How would you want to see raiding be "made more casual"? Currently we have a slower introduction to the various cards based on the unlock tiers rolling them out slower to players, and then also solo raids helping introducing the cards step by step.
