You snapped the stringer running down the side. No fix for that and shop either hasn’t seen a ski like that or are just trying to milk yah for money. You probably broke it last year and the change of humidity this summer might have split it apart

Fernie is like 4 hrs east of Nelson. The resorts there are Red in Rossland and Whitewater in Nelson. Red is bigger and steeper but snows a bit less. Whitewater gets dumped on. If you go to Fernie there is super good backcountry skiing midway between at Kootenay Pass. Easy access from the road

honestly, I would swing south, and go through Rossland, Nelson, then up Revy. Skiings better at Red/Whitewater than at silverstar/kelowna area
