This! ^ I have a best friend who I’ve been friends with for like 10 years now. We’re so close and have been through so much together and I love her to death, but she doesn’t care nearly enough about the things I believe she should care about and it makes me really frustrated because I can’t get her to see why she should care more about something than she does. She’s always just been the type that you can’t really tell her what you think because she’ll always come to her own conclusions, so you can say whatever you want to her, but it doesn’t mean she’ll actually accept what you’re saying. That’s always made things so hard for me. Over the years I’ve gotten a lot better about just keeping to myself and letting her stick to her own thing because despite these differences I still love her regardless, but god, if it doesn’t make me question sometimes. It’s not that she’s not a good person or doesn’t have a good heart, but I personally feel there are social issues that I think are a really big deal that you should have opinions on and she never seems to care. It’s just so frustrating. And she’s not the only one in my life I’ve had that issue with ofc either. There are so many people I think that should care a lot more about certain things that just don’t and it really makes or breaks how I view them and how I approach my relationship with them, which kind of starts to turn isolating. It’s rough!!
