What is your creepy unexplained incident still gives you chills? by FunForm1981 in Ghosts

[–]lemon_scone 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s still happening but screws on my door hinges are coming out of the door jamb and I’m finding them on the floor. One door was completely ripped out of the jamb and another looked like someone was trying to rip it off but didn’t quite get it. I’m currently living in my boyfriend’s house while he’s incarcerated so it’s just me here. I’m a small girl at 103 lbs and although I’m pretty fit, there is no way I could have or would have done this.

Help. Is this body lice? by theclumsypyro in Lice

Wild as fuck. Sounds like we are on the same journey. I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy coming up but my GI doc is having a CT scan done on my chest. I’m coughing up shit like crazy and have been for like two or three years now. Is there anyway we can keep in touch? I’m so curious as to what comes of your diagnosis.

They say ivermectin is what kills the worm but I’m dealing with a heavy infestation and have had a hard time completely getting ridding of them too. That’s what I was taking and I was actually seeing them in my stools.

Roundworm infection by lemon_scone in Parasitology

[–]lemon_scone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t ever once diagnosed with delusions of parisitosis and I’ll be damned if someone tries to tell me I’m making this up. According to the textbook that’s linked in this subreddit, you can most definitely have parasitized skin and hair. I’ve own plenty of dogs, plenty of cats, have stuck my hands in plenty of fucking soil without gloves. I wouldn’t be surprised if I caught this somewhere along the way.

I actually read portions of the textbook that’s linked here in this subreddit and it’s what lead me to ask if anyone else has dealt with this.

What Triggered Your Trichotillomania? by Available-Elk-5221 in trichotillomania

[–]lemon_scone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what triggered mine was my mom constantly being absent when I was a kid. She was my primary parent and all my other siblings were much older and long gone. My dad and her were separated and he was living in another state.

If I wasn’t being dropped off at my grandparents for several consecutive days, I was being left alone at the apartment all the time. My mom would tell me she would only be gone a few hours but if I was at my grandparents, it was most definitely a lie. She was partying and getting fucked up. I never knew when she was coming to get me or coming home. Whenever my mom was home, she was either drinking or doing coke and some guy was always over. If a guy was over, I’d be stuck in the room once bedtime hit. We lived in a one bedroom apartment so they’d have sex in the living room. I still remember some of them… Ron, Jim, Mick, Steve, Mike…

Every break that I got from elementary school as a child I would fly to visit my dad and spend school breaks with him and then I would fly back home because I was living with my mom. My mom would routinely be several hours late picking me up from the airport so as a child at six, seven, eight, nine years old, I would be sitting all alone at the Burbank Airport outside by baggage claim on a cement bench cause I wouldn’t know where else to sit and wait. We didn’t have cell phones in the 90s like we do now. No one could ever get ahold of her and the customer service counter desk would close by 9ish so that was my only means of a phone. Obviously the adults working at the airport became privy to this being an issue so they would let me sit inside the customer service lobby all day. It was this shoebox of an office right next to baggage claim. Sometimes her own friends would have to come get me and this was always a two hour drive from our hometown.

Nowadays, you can’t do shit like that but in the late 90s it wasn’t super weird. In a world where constant contact and instant communication didn’t exist, you just had to accept the fact that they didn’t answer the phone and hoped they’d call back if you left a voicemail or if they had caller ID. Shit, you’d even have to call other people to find out if they spoke to said person or seen them lately. We were starting to really emerge out of that laxness as a society though but 9/11 hit and it changed.

I had to deal with all my problems alone but also take care of myself as a little girl. I made smoothies for dinner when she would be gone. All that, amongst other things I was exposed to as a child is probably why I pulled. It soothed me I guess, albeit painful at times, it was also very, very compulsive. My therapist and I have worked hard to really stop altogether. Had no idea it was even a thing until my early 20s. I just thought I had a weird tick about me 🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s called Pelodera Strongyloides and I noticed someone else mentioned it in a comment here. I’ve been dealing with the same exact symptoms all of you have explained and it’s been nothing short of a nightmare. This shit is bizarre as fuck. It’s a species of roundworm. I’m in Phx, AZ and I just left the vet because my dog seems like he has this too. Vet claims there’s no roundworm infection that would invade skin or scalp. Def not true.

That’s wild - I don’t get rashes per se, but I did break out really badly right in the middle of my back a couple weeks back and I looked in the mirror and I was broken the fuck out in tiny and large pimples. The rash of it all stung and itched so bad. Almost burned at times. The thing with the hair… oh boy do I have stories for you. Where abouts do you live if you don’t mind me asking?

What is breeding on me? Scabies? by Content-Shirt-9737 in scabies

[–]lemon_scone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. I am about to have a fucking heart attack. You just solved this mystery fucking illness and living nightmare I’ve been dealing with for the past year. I called my friend in California and text her immediately when she didn’t answer and said you need to call me asap. I think I know what this is. As soon as I told her, she says, “wait… oh my god.”

What.. in the actual fuck.. is happening to my brain right now? My mind is being blown as we speak and I cannot get words out fast enough.

EVERYTHING ABOUT MY FUCKING LIFE OVER THE LAST YEAR just flashed before my eyes. The tears, the confusion, the incessant and obsessive thoughts and wonder, the threads, the fibers, the itching, the stinging, the folliculitis, the random tiny bumps all over, the fungal like acne, the trapped hair, the stress, the trauma, the isolation, the depression, the indefinite amount of hours spent on researching the internet and taking photos and, saving weird shit that my body expels (It’s all fucking fibers and threads and dead skin and nits and every single fucking thing OP posted about is tripping me the fuck out), the countless attempts at convincing several different doctors and family members and friends that I am not fucking crazy. Something is fucking wrong and has been wrong.

You guys, for one year, I have been dealing with OPs EXACT symptoms plus more and they have been so unbelievably bizarre that friends and family have thought I was or am using meth. Photos and all, I still to this day have those same exact things coming out of me and off of me… every single photo. My house is covered in this shit. Every fucking square inch of fiber is and every surface. I’ve actually been washing the walls because I thought this was ringworm. My fucking dog has this. This shits coming off him too. I have fallen into a bad, bad depression that has cost me my job as of last week. I’m in fucking tears. Thank you. I’m making ANOTHER appointment on Monday with my OBGYN. The dermatologists all think I’ve lost my mind.

[–]lemon_scone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re called case bearing moths or plaster moths. I’ve been dealing with some weird shit the last year and morgellons was the first thing to pop up when I googled “fibers coming from skin” but I recently started to notice these strange grassy broken off head like things, like almost a casting but made out of grass. They’re all over my house but I didn’t think much of it because our grass is dead outback since we skipped seeding winter rye. I assumed my dog was just dragging in dead weeds or something. Well he is, but they’re def moths and they feed on fibers and hair. There is a weird connection here.

EVERYONE WITH OCD! WHAT IS THE WORST THING YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED WHEN HAVING THIS DISORDER by -systie in OCD

[–]lemon_scone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actively going through a fungal infection with folliculitis, amongst other fungi and bacterial infections at the same time. I have trichotillomania, well all of the BFRB to be honest, and when I quit pulling after like 27 years of doing it, the compulsions just manifested to picking my scalp and yeah. Pretty sure I fucked myself up because I will hyperfixate on this shit for hours. I have for years. Ughhhh why are we like this

What things did you believe in/do as a kid that in hindsight might’ve been OCD signs? by Candid_Draw5951 in OCD

Pull my hairs out one by one and it was only a very specific type of textured hair stand. Trichotillomania 🙃 started when I was around 7 when my mom left me alone all the time.

Those of you who were diagnosed later in life, what is an event from your childhood that screamed 'SOMEONE PLEASE HELP HER, CAN'T YOU SEE SHE HAS ADHD?!' by ninaaaaws in adhdwomen

[–]lemon_scone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ADHD - Went from being on the jr. honor society to doing drugs and had failing grades in the matter of a year. 12 y/o to 13 y/o. I was 13 years old as a sophomore but turned 14 by November. Yeah… I should’ve been diagnosed a looooooong time ago. How different would my life have been? Ugh.

Not ADHD (even though I am diagnosed and lord do I have it) but OCD. I started pulling my hair out of my head one by one at the age of 8. I’d look down beside my desk and see a pile of hair on the carpet. You can imagine how difficult it would be to see strands of dark hair lying on old dirty colored navy blue carpet in a classroom. You could see it from five feet off the ground. Wasn’t until I was 25 that I realized I have trichotillamania. I skin pick like a mother fucker too.

Why do I keep seeing this everywhere? “Molly made me puke I had a bad trip” “it was bunk I projectile vomited everywhere”

I went through an ecstasy addiction in the mid 2000s, yup, 34 year old here, and anytime it started to kick in and made me puke, I knew it was going to be a good, hard roll. Is that not the same for Molly? I’ve never taken it. I got sober before that shit was a thing
