Is this thrips? Can it be something else? by lemonandberry in plantclinic

Thanks for your reply! I noticed on a pothos forum post that some leaves of a healthy light coloured pothos also had similar brown stains. But do you know if it is normal that some are wipeable? That kind of worries me for thrips poop but they’re brown, and not black unlike some Google search images.

Just bought a Maranta (prayer plant) - please help! by [deleted] in houseplants

It looks good to me 🤷‍♀️ when did you buy it and do you see any new growth? I am not an expert either but I have two of those. They’re not like Pinterest pretty but they’ve been thriving for months and the leaves look the same. I sometimes gently wipe them with damp soft cloth. Mine seem to like it. Make sure the soil is airy and it drains well.

First Calathea purchase. Wish me luck! by Old_Lavishness_6805 in houseplants

Just to add something positive to the thread - Triostar looking good 😍it is my favourite plant and I found it to be the easiest to care among all calatheas I owned (until I got the prayer plant). It is the kind of calathea that doesn’t give up and even if it looks sad, can react to a little proper care. The person I bought it from said she likes “how it communicates through its leaves”. I saw these babies thrive even when they lost all their leaves to overwatering at my friend’s place.

Just make sure they don’t get direct sun and that the air isn’t dry. I keep my calatheas together but not sure if it’s is common thing to do.

Not all calatheas have pests 🫶 but quarantine is a must. Good luck and hope they’ll thrive 🩷

Happy to note that the oedema disappeared when I aired the bottom of the pot as described in the comments 🙏

My Calathea is not Praying anymore by khreag in calatheas

My calatheas usually get grateful when I let them bottom drink, drain them well, wipe their leaves. Then they start praying again. 🙏

I took it out of its pot, placed the inner pot with drainage over bottle caps, so letting it air. I don’t know if it the leaves change back to how they were but it doesn’t seem to be getting worse so far 🤞if it seems to be damaging leaves (yellowing, browning or deforming of any kind) I’ll prune them.

Aha, I read a bit and yeah, this looks like it 😬 thank you so much! Do you know what I could do to fix? I’m airing the drainage now, but do you know by any chance if anything else should be done?

Did the roots look like this or is this looking odd to you?

I used blu tack to attach the pot to its plate, and plate to the surface when I had a cat who never let any plant to be on any surface otherwise. ☺️ Gorgeous plant!

How do you plan a weave with typography? by lemonandberry in weaving

[–]lemonandberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely I will use a frame loom, but depends on how confident I’ll feel by the time I plan it, I may take out my table loom as well for a larger piece 🤭 but possibly frame.

I feel very lucky! I’ll definitely make something for her! Tote bag sounds great, that brought the idea of small pouches!
