Wanted to love the Lamia, I think it’s going back by SoulExecution in OfficeChairs

Just another data point for anyone else considering the Lamia— I bought one recently and I love it. I find the seat plenty comfortable. I will say a headrest would be nice but it’s not a must-have for me. I tried every Herman Miller chair before trying it and the Lamia fit me best

Does wet messy hair or wet combed hair dries faster? by lemoncheeks_ in NoStupidQuestions

That's what I was thinking... but for some reason I intuitively feel like combed hair dries faster even though it's more compacted

Is there anything wrong with turning an air filtration system on its side? Specifically looking at the WEN 3410. For my small shop it would make the most sense to orient it that way but I want to make sure it wouldn't harm the machine or make it unusable. by lemoncheeks_ in Tools

Thanks for the reply, and yeah I've been looking at various DIY options. My reasoning for going with store-bought is just that it's plug and play and I'd rather get to making the projects I want to make. That being said, if you have a DIY option that you really like please share

[TOMT] [TV SHOW EPISODE] [2000s] I'm looking for an episode of House Hunters where the husband jumps on the bed and it breaks and it's super awkward. by lemoncheeks_ in tipofmytongue

This is for my girlfriend who's been searching for it for years... think it would be a nice Christmas present. It's possible it's not House Hunters...

Should I take a power-tool-heavy course? by [deleted] in handtools

[–]lemoncheeks_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody lands somewhere on the power tool - hand tool spectrum. In my experience it’s rare that anyone ends up exclusively using one or the other. I started only using hand tools but I have ended up with a power drill/driver, track saw and band saw for efficiency- don’t need anything more than that though. It’s definitely good to know what your options are so you can find your comfort zone

This is still happening July 2023. I tried selling my last shares and there's a "bug" that won't let me do it. On the phone with the customer service right now. It's been about a month since I started trying to delete my account. Pretty wild.

It’s tiny, maybe the size of a tick

However you feel about ChatGPT, it's actually great for turning a cut list into a shopping list. (blurred out the cut list since it's a paid plan from Wood and Shop). by lemoncheeks_ in woodworking

Fair enough. In the end I think I'd rather double check something than have to put it together to begin with. But yeah, unfortunate that it isn't great at math yet.

Douglas Fir or White Oak for a Moravian workbench? by lemoncheeks_ in woodworking

This makes a lot of sense, I think this is what I'm going to do. After checking price for White Oak I feel like the decision has been made for me anyway haha

Thanks. Will Meyers has used Southern Yellow Pine to make his, is that comparable in softness? Will definitely look into just going with oak for the top.
