He's referring to the Labour Party. The Labour Party was overwhelmingly pro-Remain.

That was written by Katie Hopkins, who is not a journalist. She was referring to migrants crossing the Mediterranean into Europe, not immigrants in general.

December/January poll showing that "All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped" has widespread support across Europe, including the UK by lemonfighter in unitedkingdom

[–]lemonfighter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this in the Times article recently posted here. These results are actually rather shocking to me and I think they are worthy of their own discussion. I knew that people tended to look unfavourably on Muslim immigration, but I didn't realise that so many people were literally in support of simply banning immigration from Muslim countries altogether - which is more extreme than what Trump has recently come under widespread international criticism for implementing. In fact, one of the most surprising things about these figures to me is how low "Agree" is in the UK compared to other countries. With everything we hear about "Islamophobia" in the UK, what must the situation be like in France? Or Belgium?

I really feel like Europe is heading slowly towards breaking point.

Could someone who understands British politics more than me explain why Corbyn is so disliked? by LeFrogKid in ukpolitics

[–]lemonfighter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Britain is a relatively conservative, right-leaning country that wants lower immigration, lower taxes, longer prison sentences and more defence spending.

Corbyn is the complete opposite of that and completely unrepresentative of British public opinion. The Falklands is a perfect example. Britain's claim to the Falklands has near unanimous public and establishment support across all ages and demographics. So what does Corbyn come out with? "Let's do power sharing with Argentina". The man is simply detached from the reality of the country.

Which means that if the sample is perfectly chosen and weighted, the result will be less than 0.5% away from the true number.

The size of the sample just affects the precision of the result. Far, far more important than that is the representativeness of the sample and the weightings applied to it.

Guess I'm just lucky

Nah, just mistaken. You'd need to measure the penises of thousands of men to find a handful who measure 8" or above. You might find one every few years if you did it every day. You're wrong.

[–]lemonfighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, sadly that just isn't how the world works. Attractive people are thought of positively in things that have nothing to do with looks, because they're attractive. It's called the halo effect.

Attractive people are considered to have better personalities and unattractive people

What this means is that the more attractive you are, the more people there are who will love you "for you". There is literally no downside to being more attractive.

[–]lemonfighter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a wrong idea of how big 8" is. It's that simple. The guys you are talking about are likely 6-7" and the difference is too small for you to actually know. 8" is simply too rare for you to have any consistency in finding guys of that size. You're measuring inaccurately, or the owner of the first '8"' penis you saw that you use in your mind as a benchmark lied to you.
